Brace yourselves, it’s yet another negative topic about Halo 4, even I’m getting sick of them. Okay, I want to start off by saying that there is no doubt about it, that 343 did not take into account the fanbase when making Halo 4, they promised that they wouldn’t change anything, they promised that Halo was for us the fans. They lied. 343 messed up. I’m not going to get into reasons why I think so because I have already stated why in this topic: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst171727_Halo-4---Did-343-let-us-down.aspx
It seems hypocritical of me saying that I am getting sick of the negative topics when I am posting one myself. It’s not that I’m sick of seeing people’s opinions, no. I am annoyed because nothing is being done about it. Halo is going down the gutter. It is at its falling point, people are giving up on it and to be honest, I think I might have too. I just read a thread a few minutes ago by one Radical Salvo. It wasn’t, as he said, a flame-bait but that it was a legit-open thread.
It read,
“Well, now after hearing the comments made during the GDC panel we are finally vindicated. We were right. 343i purposely made Halo 4 a casual-friendly game to give the nublets and COD kids some short term entertainment. Randomness was included to give power weapons to the kids who were too lazy to earn them. The skill gap was eliminated.
We no longer need an explicit acknowledgement or apology from 343i. Their panel at GDC was as good an acknowledgement as any. The future they envision for Halo is a lot different than the one Bungie had. Now we know for sure that Halo 5 will be no different.”
You know, there was a time not too long ago when Halo was the best game ever made. It was like no-other. It was unique. It was more than just a game, it was a home for you and your friends. No-matter how you spent your time on Halo, it was always home. The game disc that was always either in the disc-tray or right beside the TV outside of the box. I do not see that same game today. Look at what it has become.
After reading that segment above, that’s when I lost hope. I had it in the back of my mind that 343 would see the wrong they have done and instead of being market followers, that 343 would become market leaders like how Bungie had done before-hand, time and time again. I know now that it was foolish of me to think so. Halo will continue on it’s current path. I have had a-lot of time to think about this, however I really can’t understand why 343 just alienated their fans. Money? That’s probably the most logical reason. It still escapes me why they are still going to continue with this COD formula for future titles. The population has never been this bad in any Halo game. Can they not see that they have failed? I know the post above says that they don’t have to give us an apology now but it’s not about whether they have to or not, we deserve one. We deserve to get answers. We deserve the right to question, why? I believe we, as fans also have the right to ask for what we want in upcoming games. I am asking, please, give us our Halo back. Give us our home back.
