So I just had a long day if work and don’t really want to hear a bunch of trolls jumping all over my post and I am not trying to be negative or complain about halo 5 which seems to be the trend now a days. I just got done with a war zone match my first one if today and in fact my last for today as well. I spawned in and within three minutes they had us spawn trapped and we’re farming for kills. This has happened to me before but I just now decided to speak up. I am a decent halo player and I went 5 and 30 in this match. I love playing war zone but matches like this are becoming to common, even when I am the one farming I don’t enjoy it. So my question to 343i is this; is this the game you wanted to create? Where the top one percent of players dominate and slaughter everyone? Is this what 343i wanted when they released Achilles armor? If it is, then why? Do they want the game population to drop down to a tenth of what it us? Cause I have been playing halo since the release of combat evolved and play no other games but halo. You can check my profile if you don’t believe me. I love halo and have never thought of any other game but every time I play war zone and this happens I get closer and closer to completely not playing halo 5. Furthermore I have played with over three dozen players since the game came out that haven’t played since Achilles armor dropped and companies like whiskey became okay. 343i are you going to fix this? And do you really think any significant amount of halo players are gonna buy your next halo game after what you did to this one? I remembered the days when I would play split screen with all my friends and do system link and have entire weekends of halo 2 and 3 matches. I remember playing through all the halo campaigns side to side with my dad. My dad and I have been halo fans for over a decade and I would give anything to be able team up again in halo 5 campaign with him but I cant. Halo is a game I grew up with over the last dozen years and now I just don’t seem to love it the way I used to. I know it’s just a game but my dad and I spent so many hours bonding over this game and it sucks not be able to continue that. The reason for all this change was so that 343i could broaden their customer bases and make more money which is understandable. But the smarter thing to do would be to continue to appeal to the halo fan base and keep halo tied to the older games by keeping split screen and other features like cortana. Cortana has been chiefs friend and companion for the last decade of halo playing and one of the saddest moments in my life was when chief said goodbye in h4 but I was happier when she died a hero rather than living to become the villain. 343i basically just stomped all over sacred halo ground and disrespected the last fifteen years of halo that this community had traversed and for what? So a bunch of teenage kids can buy the game legally and jump and ask stupid questions like what’s halo 2 and who’s cortana. Wtf happened to halo?
Holy wall of salt Batman…just quit the match if it’s that bad…honestly it sounds like you would be having more fun even if you got banned
I can sympathize with you on a lot of points OP, but Halo is no longer targeting us as an audience it seems.
Honestly, the whole Warzone situation is the doing of Kevin Franklin, he said that it was his idea and he just recently jumped ship to make his own company.
Thanks to Warzone, we have a nickel and dime experience with crappy RNG rewards instead of meaningful gameplay goals and now the only reward that people want was implemented badly and is hurting the game for most people.
Just think, without Warzone, we’d have all those gametypes we are only just getting drip-fed and an overall more complete experience. Halo 4 was a more complete package than Halo 5…
Ah, I can’t help it either, this game has it’s moments where it stands above its predecessors, but those moments are few and far between.
i didn’t have a problem with farming until recently. The past few matches I’ve had they start doing that. It’s gotten so annoying. Ruins the game. I do quit the matches though. I don’t wanna waste my time on idiots. Where is the fun in farming. Like why do it. Where is the fun in it. Warzone doesnt ban if you quit. So I just quit. Unless I have a boost on.

Not really sure, but I think warzone does ban for quitting? I think I even got one once
343i ‘tried’ to add some value to armour and make it a challenge to get so they added Achillies.
It failed, horribly.
I feel like 343i could put an search option to find normal spartans who’re playing by theirselves or to play against a fireteam, you can have like 5 friends play with you, but having more than 6 people (including you) in the party, then it’ll be a fireteam automatically, this will help prevent spawntrappers taking advantage of lone spartans as most trappers are in a fireteam, so puting a fireteam against a fireteam, it’ll be more even because they can communicate to take on the opposing team.
Am I playing war zone wrong or something because I have been playing a lot of it lately and have yet to be “farmed”… guess I am either luck or just a Halo beast
There’s a few things you can do to not put up with this.
1 quit… Just quit and if you get banned at least your not getting farmed.
2 plug in a mic and tell everyone what’s happening then everyone of you hide in the back corner until they come in.
First of all you went 5-24 in that match. I looked it up, and second of all, the group you went against includes some of the most notorious farmers in Halo 5. Seriously, I’m not going to call them out, but one of them has a twitch stream, is very popular, and his channel always features these champion level groups just destroying people to the point that they all quit. You had very bad luck going against those guys.

Almost everyone in the group he went against already has the full Achilles armor set (body armor and helmet) so that has nothing to do with it. People just like to wreck other players for as long as possible. With or without Achilles it will always be this way. Don’t blame the armor, blame human nature.
I still laugh at farmers that feel proud with Achillies.
Halo 3 Recon - An armour set you felt proud of and could show off because of how hard the Vidmaster Challenges were and people would be in awe when they see you with it.
Halo 5 Achillies - Pretty much known as the farmer/try hard armour. Theres no real challenge to obtain it, its just a long waiting game and everyone would think you’re a tryhard and not really bother doing anything with you if they saw you in that armour.
Oh how times have changed!
Like to post things and watch others take the time out of there day to correct me hehehe it’s so entertaining
I haven’t been severely spawntrapped like that, but the spawntrap is certainly there. I don’t know how much 343i actually plays of their own game, but they ought to take a look.

But it was the Achilles Armor that was the primary factor in the use and spread of spawn-trapping. While people certainly spawntrapped in Warzone before Achilles, it was the Armor that made it “popular.”

Matching solos with solos, and teams with teams. This would slow down the farming, but I don’t think it would stop.
