I havent bought defiant because of the poor matchmaking integration of the map pack. Anyone bought it and played them much? If 343 were to better integrate the DLC or to even make a search preference for DLC (like language) I would buy Defiant and any future DLC. As it is i wont be buying any more DLCs for Reach

Unearthed is really good but the maps never come up in rotation outside of the premium playlist.
Because i love FF and unique Halo maps that don’t double as campaign levels.
Also, i ve been away from Reach but i used to frequent the DLC playlist and get the DLC maps voted for all the time. It’s redundant to have normal lolReachmaps and community maps in it.
I bought it for all three maps, but it’s really only worth buying it for Unearthed. The other one’s never even appear in MM anyway.
I bought it because I was excited to see what maps not made by Bungie were like. Also, being a huge Halo fan, I purchase all DLC for it no matter what. I think Defiant has the best maps so far in Reach. Highlands is just fantastic in my opinion. There are sso many options, I love the layout, the canyon style, and of course the scenery is just gorgeous. Some complain about the excessive amount of power weapons, but Multiflag CTF on highlands is some of the best Halo Reach has to offer.
Condemned is probably my second favorite map in Reach. It took 3 tries to get a zero g map right in Reach and condemned was the answer. While past zero g maps anchor 9, Zealot had zero g section as a side or gimmick to the map, Condemned threw it right in the center and made it a focal point. I love the wheel layout and how the center is a risk/reward area. It connects all the areas and allows for easy travel, but you are a sitting duck if your caught floating around. The Rocket in the middle is just another factor. Fantastic layout, well integrated zero g, and once again beautiful scenery makes condemned another incredible map.
Not much of a FF guy, but I love the open vehicle based combat in Unearthed. Always fun to drive a buddy killing endless waves of Covies. One of the best FF maps by far.
The only map in reach i would put toe to toe with defiant maps is Tempest. I absolutely love that map.
Despit the poor integration in to standard playlists, they are worth getting. The DLC maps blow old Reach maps out of the water and having their own playlist is good enough for me.

It has its own playlist, and it comes up equally to the rest of the FF maps. Like if you are doing score attack you can just veto to it. Also it is fairly popular and usually gets picked in the Traditional FF playlists.

In Arcade, its not the same rate but if everyone has the map pack, it pops frequently.

I didn’t buy it. 343 gave it to me.
On hindsight, only Unearthed was really worth it since I have to play premium to see the other two.
I mainly bought it for Highlands. I have yet to play it in matchmaking because I still need the Noble pack.

You know, it used to be that Unearthed (or DLC maps for that matter) hardly ever popped up. It’s better this way, if you don’t want to play them, then vote for something else and hope for the best.
I am not sure if you are complaining but Bungie at least increased the ratio of DLC map appearences. It’s that or play lolswordbase for a hundred times.
