WHY would you take away the ability to talk to everyone?

I mean, they can try, but if they blatantly say (as they have in the past) ‘Online Interactions are not Politically Correct’ or something along those lines, then they would just be wasting their own money on lawyers at that point.

I just play H3 if I want to talk. Most people that still play it are our age and you won’t have to worry about some soy drinking pansyy crying about what you called them to twitter. Why even use a mic on infinite anyway? The game holds your hand and tells you when the weapons are up. You can even ping enemy locations. Party chat ruined Xbox live.

It’s just fun, and they don’t really call who is where, or in any sort of… I don’t know, social interaction? I just don’t get how this is the future of the previous iteration, when things were fun, now it’s ridiculous.

I think the chat function is to protect us more than anything. You get into a heated discussion and the twitter user gets offended and releases personal information and then a few threats later something actually happens to you and then 343 would get the blame since the initial engagement happened on their service which wasnt being moderated. Yeah, it happens. It has happened to me personally on another game but not to the point of personal threats. The multi platform banning, the msm wanting proof of id to use social media, this is what we get for taking advantage of free services because we pay with our information. Now, any weeb in his basement can find where you live if they try. So, now that i think about it the chat function isnt that bad. Before when the voice chat was hotter than lava people didnt have access to all these internet based gadgets to use against someone.

I’m fine with it, release my personal info, if you can figure it out. It’s still illegal on their end, me saying ‘you suck’ isn’t illegal lmao, and it doesn’t get pushed back on them, noticed how the guns argument isn’t going back on the manufacturers? It can’t, because they cannot guarantee the usage of what they have made, same difference.

CoD still has it, it works flawlessly… so why can’t halo infinite?
‘oh x,y, and z type of person offends me’ mute them then! or ya know… have there be a setting to mute all.

the amount of times i wanted to type to all or voice to all and only to find out i couldn’t, when MCC let me, bloody bothers me so much. when i die fairly (be it rarely) i want to compliment the opponent, or tell 'em to sod off. why can’t i?

I care. I care a lot. I do not come onto Halo to get called slurs all day, or hear them used. I see them in gamertags enough. You do not speak for us all and I appreciate not having to deal with bigotry everywhere I go.

Where did I say that I speak for all? Dear God, already we get the twitter users coming in here to complain about other people having a say. Check the part where I said you can choose to mute all. Thanks for the input from the (I’m assuming by your profile pic) Furries, but please read the entire post before trying to control the speech of others.

Wow that, took nothing for you to fly off the handle. I already mute all, quite frankly.

But damn, correct or not that’s a boatload of assumptions about me. I’m not trying to control others’ speech. But if 343i dictates, “This is not allowed in the space we curate” then… It’s not allowed. We’re guests in their space, it isn’t ours.

I have way too many friends who are minorities and way too many LGBT+ friends and those overlap considerably - to even consider allowing a slur ridden vocal chat being default.

So I’m glad that the system is what it is. We got enough to deal with.

I totally understand what you mean OP with how the games back then actually was more social with making people talk unlike now where everything is very antisocial.

I’m no snowflake like other people in the forums that made 343 remove gender customizations, saying people didn’t like Locke because he was black and etc. We know who the snowflakes are.

For the most part I don’t mind the not forcing lobby chat because my friends don’t play Halo anymore its just me, So I’m usually solo queueing while in a party talking to friends.

Also when I’m solo queueing I prefer the not forced ingame chat because I don’t want to hear from people’s mics a fan, the ringing of a kinect, echo, vacuum cleaner, dog barking, someone breathing very heavily, someone complain and whine when they’re dying a lot and feeding points to the other team and etc. Its annoying thats why I prefer starting a party by myself when playing.

Fly off the handle? Yea, I can definitely tell you’re on twitter. You think that you are somehow ‘protected’ from even having a reply to you that disagrees, and that shows very quickly.

Correct or not? It’s not hard to spot, the replies are all you need to read to be able to see exactly what I said.
What are you talking about? Insults, and such? You realize that online interactions are unable to be directly controlled by anything, even 343i, unless it’s text. If you are unable to handle people talking to you online, then maybe you shouldn’t be online?

Dear lord, so is that the new ‘I have a black friend’ commentary? So because you have friends who are minorities, and the other spectrum, you can tell others they are unable to talk? Interesting to see how much power you get just because of your claims.

It is hilarious how people like yourself, have this sense of arrogance, and the bolstering of places such as Twitter that make you feel invulnerable to life outside of your own. You realize that my comments about me not caring if people did that, is because THAT would be the response by people like you that would say ‘no, people saying stuff triggers me’, etc. No one should care about what people say in terms of insults, slurs, etc. Because they don’t mean anything, unless YOU make them mean something. It is pathetic, very pathetic how we have to sensor everything we say to tailor our entire lives to the slim minority of people who are unable to cope with life, because your feelings may be hurt.

Grow a thicker skin, no one insulting you should be able to hurt you, I grew up being teased, bullied, etc. And guess what? I realized their words don’t mean jack, if I don’t let them. It is getting ridiculous that my favorite game series is being tailored to the 1% of children out there unable to cope with life.

Uuhhhh… Okay… sure…?

I get it - I preferred Halo back before the 360 when you just had a mic. People would speak every game.

However the haters who abused this system who did attack personally rather than just their halo skills ruined it for us all.

Microsoft clamped down - governments clamped down.

This is one thing you can’t blame on the devs. By the sounds of it Op it was probably partly your fault that we are in this position.

Yeah reading the thread it seems like OP was pretty keen on just bullying the other players and, now they can’t have that anymore. It’s pretty transparent.

Hilariously, I don’t think OP would last two seconds in my field (I’m a welder.)

I disagree, not really much I can say as a rebuttal considering no one can see evidence either way on my own involvement, but I disagree with the premise. Allowing people to choose to talk to others who have chosen the selection should not be an issue, nor cause any legal matters they would need to be fearful of.

EDIT
THIS WAS REPORTED. THIS. THIS INNOCENT AND IN NO WAY OFFENSIVE COMMENT WAS REPORTED, AND HIDDEN BY THE SYSTEM. WHAT THE ACTUAL FORNICATION?
THIS is why we need to remove the anonymity of reports. THIS is why people need to be held accountable. I am 100% sure that KCDODGER reported this, and it shows how pathetic this entire charade is. Bring back open communication, and stop this malarkey.

343 took away proximity chat in MCC. Proximity chat was a highly requested feature that 343 chose to ignore. In MCC they also disabled the ability to hear other enemy players in the FFA playlist. It doesn’t surprise me they did the same. 343 is based out of Washington and is very liberal this is their mindset.

Believe what you’d like KC, you are far too quick to let personal information out, I choose not to let that information out, especially to a twitter user, considering the issues with doxing that have become a rampant part of twitter, and those who do not follow the PC culture as of late.

I’m not a doxxer or really scared of that veiled threat. But again with the assumptions lol.

You are far too quick to assume that was a threat. It was not, I do not threaten, obviously you have not read my previous commentary, considering nothing that was said here by any of you has insulted me, or offended me, why exactly would you feel that I would need to, or want to threaten you? This is a game forum, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things, let alone my freedom to not be in prison? Wtf?

You know, this is one of those times where I realize someone else has a lot more to unpack than I do. I’m gonna’ go back to reading my buddy’s skyrim fanfiction.

You do uh,

whatever the Hel this is
