WHY would you take away the ability to talk to everyone?

Edit 2
Thanks to The_Cole_Train monitor, This has been permanently closed, even though he closed it, then messaged me with ‘we are looking into it’ AFTERwards, seriously? The lack of communication on the forum is atrocious.

Edit
Because the ability to talk to everyone without impedance, or oversight is being labeled as offensive, the overlords that are 343i, and the as oxford defines it small soft piece of frozen water that falls from the sky as snow, have reported this post multiple times, this has been closed/locked for nearly 24 hours. It says it will automatically open in 4 hours, and keeps resetting. Thank you for showing just how ridiculous it is now, by you reporting the post asking for the ability to actually talk to people. The children trolling around, and reporting this are only bolstering my opinion, and they need to be shown that hiding in the shadows while trying to report everything they disagree with is not enough to stop the freedom that should be afforded to all. Bring back the ability to freely talk, and stop bowing to people because their feelings are hurt because people don’t agree with their narcissistic, selfish, and small minded opinions in life.End Edit

Seriously, this was the entire reason why I enjoyed the Halo universe to begin with.

I WANT this ability back. You have RUINED the community in Halo Infinite without the ability to talk to each other. You have made it ridiculously difficult to invite people you don’t know, or to invite people that you just played a game with. You have made it like all other games, but WORSE.

If you don’t want to talk to people? Make it a setting.
If you are in the lobby? You should be able to talk to the other team, compliment them, insult them, whatever. I don’t care if this sends people away, you will maintain the original fans, and THOSE are who you want. You don’t want the snowflakes who can’t handle conversation. For the love of little 9lb 8oz baby Jesus bring back the things that made Halo WORTH playing. F~.

Are you talking about proximity chat? I miss that so much. Intentionally feeding the enemy team false information to throw them off guard. Such a dynamic and game changing feature.

Proximity Chat, as well as lobby chat, being able to immediately message whomever is in the game on either team with an invite, or a message, etc. It’s like they are scared that people will be able to team up, talk, or just all around have a good time anymore. It’s ridiculous. You should be able to choose if you want a lobby with mics, NO ONE has a mic anymore. Argh

WTH are you talking about, 343 can’t even get basic things like the mute option right, and that has been an option for how many years now?

2022 people, this is basic programming :man_facepalming:

Remember when consoles used to come with mics to encourage social behavior?

Wouldn’t be surprised if it had been done due to social sensitivities to some extent…

This is why I mentioned that some people would get offended, I’m not even sorry, forget those people, they are playing a mature rated game about murder, how could WORDS hurt them now? lmfao

At the very least, it should be so for customs

I thought it did, because you would be in the same party?

Nope, it doesn’t

100% Agree with the OP

Chat should not be disabled by default.

I play on Euro times, no one speaks. Unless your in a pre stack it makes teamwork nigh on impossible. On the odd occasion ive played late and the Americans are on, the chat is alive and well.

Trash talking in the lobby was part of the experience back in the day, no body took it seriously. Honestly, i couldn’t even tell you how many thousands of people claimed to have banged my mom, or how many mothers I in turn had claimed to bang. I never once ended the night with a list of names and confronted my mom… hey mom do you know HaloGeezer117? Did you bang him?

Honestly, its ridiculous.

Video game devs were being made out as the responsivle parties for inappropriate language and abuse. Instead of using the feedback features that have been present for years it’s more attractive to make the dev (or the medium) out to be terrible because they “facilitate”.

Don’t get mad at devs for reacting to the times, get mad at the people and social climates that lead us here.

Personally, I could take it or leave it as I’m usually in party chat anyway. What I do really miss is the proximity chat.

Oh totally.

I can just picture some poor receptionist at Bungie trying to work out who to redirect the call to from Th3Pl4Gu3’s karren mother cause she feels slighted her precious boy heard someone drop the f bomb even though he is making up worse slurs in the playground at school.

Oh what a time to be alive. Middle of summer and yet there are snowflakes everywhere!

it’s too offensive to have chat in pre or post-game. phil spencer even says he’d like to monitor communication even more closely and make bans be cross-platform in the future.

imagine in 2-3 years when 343 decides to ban tea bagging because it will be considered sexual harassment, then you get banned from Xbox. Oh, wait, do you use windows and cloud? Let’s ban you from that too, because we believe in banning cross-platform. Awesome future ahead, boys.

People got soft. I guess too many people couldn’t handle pregame smack talk.

The thing is, most of the people who get offended at everything, don’t spend money. Why would you want them in the game anyway? Why cater to them? Forget about them, and focus on the actual fans, the ones who ARE paying, the ones who have defended you and been a part of the community for years. I seriously don’t understand the pandering of small minded children. I cannot offend you, you choose to be offended, that is how being offended works.

And that legitimately makes me sad. I liked to insult the other team, making them upset usually means easier to beat them. It was part of the game ffs.

Just a reminder, the people who dont like the ability to talk to anyone in a lobby are the same people who think teabagging is offensive, the same people who couldnt complete the Cuphead tutorial, the same people who think attractive female characters are offensive, the same people that think the community not liking spartan Locke in halo 5 was only because he is black.

To put it simply, they couldnt handle it, and when those snowflakes go 0-17 in a match and everyones calling them a noob, 343 or microsoft would probably face legal issues. As crazy as that sounds.

I can 100% assure you, they would not face a legal issue. Issue a warning ‘Someone may call you -term for different sexual orientation’, tada.

-Edited to make sure no one reported me. The irony.

Thats where you are wrong. You can be 100% sure there wont be any problems but society never ceases to amaze.

For example, google can silence your account without notice. All your youtube comments automatically deleted, messages in live stream chat never send, which is applied to your account indefinitely as well as all your alt accounts and any accounts you may make in the future. Yeah, they can do that.

Msm snowflakes trying to push a rule to prove your identity to use social media. So they can personally threaten and attack people who disagree with them.

In this very thread theres talks about phil spenser trying to make bans multi platform, so if you get banned from halo infinite you also get banned from any other service microsoft or 343 have.
