Why would you do this?

I just played a game of warzone assault against a team that decimated mine. Within four minutes they had unlocked the core. Needless to say they easily got into our base but then just defended our own home base from us. There were five or six of them in the room with the core and they just held it for five minutes before destroying it. What is the point of that? They could have won earlier, why wait?

Thats pretty cruel, never had that happen to me but maybe they as a team were grinding for commendations?

Those teams run Warzone… And they do it just because they can. Sorry about your luck. I wish I could get a team going so that there was communication amongst everyone…

I don’t think anyone here is gonna be able to give you exact answers as to what happened here, but maybe they were just being annoying for the sake of being annoying. I would say that they were probably waiting for someone with a strong power weapon to get to your base to make quick work of the core, but that even has some holes in that plan.

Probably the same reason matchmaking often puts you in a team of headless chickens; so that the other team racks up commendations and boost stats.

My sympathies to you, since that’s a whole new level of -Yoink- moves.

Just padding up their KD before ending it more likely.

Reminds me of objective game types on Reach.

They do it just to rack up kills. Really sorry it happened. Would be miserable for sure. I have had a couple close to that but not quite that bad.

I read on another thread RP points increase as the match gets longer. 8.5 minutes gives the max RP. Sounds like they won at about 9 minutes which fits.
It seems they are grinding RP as a team.

For the same reason some people keep the flag before returning it: Just to let their team make a few more kills.

Sorry to hear it happened to you, we all been through it.

It’s simple , what’s yours is mine give me your sandwich . While I don’t doubt they were talented players , perhaps they have a bit too much time on their hands and decided to change the terms of the game to king of the core.

yup just Padding a Worthless Stat thats all they are doing. trying to make themselves feel good.

Scumbags farming kills and points is what it sounds like. Sorry that happened to you.

Thanks for the responses, I was totally confused , as I had never seen a team take the core over and just hold it before. They had 4-6 players in the core room, while the rest zoned spawn points. Everyone on my team went like -10KDA. It was a slaughter.

It happened to me once. We must have met the same team, they used EXACTLY the same strategy. Man, those players were over the top. I mean, I was playing with 3 good friends and we got DE-STROYED. Totally. I never saw that before in any previous Halo. At some point it was just funny. We were getiing spawned killed infinitely by tanks and snipers and ghosts, name it, it’s there. We looked at the guys stats post-game and it was just crazy. Like 2000 warzone matches played with a win ratio or 99.8%. L to the OL! Yeah, they were ultra pros, but we were strongly questioning ourselves if they had jobs or girlfriends or if they would shower regularly. That’s a tad sad, if you ask me.

I was wondering about that because I noticed Warzone matches generally get more RP than Arena matches.

You can check it was the last game I played in Warzone and was less than 8 minutes long
