This is the place where you can say why you would boot or betray. Or you can just give a scenario.
I hate when accidental betrayals happen your about to kill somebody and a player steps in the way and you kill your team mate and they boot you. don’t other players see that sometimes its an accident. hasn’t happened in awhile but find it annoying when it happens.
It’s funny, just… not when I get booted.
Betray? A celebratory high five after a teammate does something really good.
Boot? When a teammate is consistently being stupid and it would be better for everybody else if he/she wasn’t in the game anymore.
Today on Rasu a team member kept disabling my tank I took from the enemy base. Why? hell if I know. I almost died and we lost. I could have gotten some good kills before the end of the game but he wouldn’t let up. I shot at him and he died, but not by me. Yesterday however I was on hemmorage and I got on a teammates mongoose. An -Yoink- hole on my team came up behind and melee’d me twice killing me, jsut because I got on first. I got the option to boot right away and I took it. He was a guest with a friend. 2 people gone from my team. We won by about 70 points. We didn’t need that kind of jack -Yoink- behaviour on our team and we still won 6v8.
If it is an accident I forgive them, if is on purpose they can kiss their -Yoink- goodbye.
I’ll never boot if it was an accident. If someone is chasing me because I have snipe and betrays me, that’s an instant boot.
I boot whenever I get the option. I hate the concept of accidental betrayals. With a little situational awareness 99.999999999999% could be avoided. If you accidentally kill someone in real life, you are still penalized for it, and that’s the approach I take with booting.
I never betray however.

So… if i stick someone and then you decide to assassinate them, you would boot me?

Same. I’ve made a point of not booting for accidental betrayals because I hate it so much myself. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt when I can’t tell if it was an accident.

Oh ill betray/boot any one for no damn reason at all.
Like most here, I hate it when I get booted because someone ran behind the tank/warthog I just launched a rocket at.
For that same reason, I don’t boot people who zoom over a hill and splatter me (by accident) but if you follow me around trying to get the sniper, one of us is going to be gone - and if it is going to be me, I’m going to try and drop it off the edge or use up all the ammo, so you can wait for the next spawn…
It is prudent, I believe, to take caution when making the choice to boot another player. At Harvard Halo Clan, we instruct clan members to take a moment to reflect on the situation at hand when the option to boot a teammate comes up. Ultimately, as Chaucer says, “The guilty think all talk is of themselves.”
I always forgive people when it seemed like it was an accident. Usually it was my fault for putting myself in a stupid situation. However, if someone decides to be an idiot and betray me for a certain weapon… Well, guess what the shape of Italy is? That’s right, it’s a BOOT.
Betray? I like to call them “high-fives”
