Why Would They Decrease The Ammo?

Have you guys noticed how the ammo for many guns has gone down as time goes on? Here are examples of the ones I can think of:

Assault Rifle Halo CE: 60
Assualt Rifle Halo 3 and after: 32

DMR Reach: 15
DMR Halo 4: 14

Spartan Laser Halo 3: 5 (20% each)
Spartan Laser Reach and after: 4 (25%)

Beam Rifle Halo 2 & 3: About 17 (About 5-7% each)
Beam Rifle Halo 4: 10 (10% each)

Magnum Halo CE and 2: 12
Magnum Halo 3 and after: 8

Shotgun Halo CE and 2: 12
Shotgun Halo 3 and after: 6

Plasma Pistol Halo CE, 2 and 3: 200-300 (2-3 shots per 1%)
Plasma Pistol Reach: 100 (1 shot per 1%)
Plasma Pistol Halo 4: 50 (1 shot per 2%)

Energy Sword Halo 2: Unlimited
Energy Sword Halo 3 and after: 10 (10% each)

These are just a few I can think of right now. But I was wondering, why would they decrease the ammo as time goes on? Wouldn’t they rather increase ammo to kill more enemies? (Looking at this from the UNSC and Covenant’s perspective)

Energy sword being unlimited to not was a duh kind of decision.

You need to include the amount of extra ammo you have. Lowering the ammo requires you to reload more which prevents less team rolling without reloading.

“Ammo” perk.

I miss CE’s assault rifle, it was perfect.The plasma pistol’s primary was simply butchered to balance its secondary feature, doesn’t make sense but whatever.The rest is meh and was most likely for balance.

What i could never understand was how in Halo, weapons were never balanced between PvE and PvP.To me that’s just laziness in balancing.343 should talk to arenanet who kept balance between PvE and PvP with over 800 skills that fit on a skill bar that held 8 skills.They were masters of balancing.

I thought the energy sword in halo 2 had a battery in multiplayer only…or was it campaign?

But most of the clip reductions is to reduce spamming.

Needler ammo has gone down too.
