"Why would I pay for games I've already played?"

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
This has been a reason I’ve encountered for disinterest in this collection, either this or
“I already own these games”, both have come up with several people I’ve talked to about the MCC.

Then upon further conversation with said people it becomes clear that they see this collection as one of those HD bundles that have come out in the past (Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry and Hitman spring to mind).

It seems it’s not well known just how much this collection is putting on the table, it’s no mere bumped resolution slap dash affair.

After properly explaining to friends and acquaintances alike just exactly what this particular collection includes content wise and the improvements/enhancements being made, the general response has been;

"Really…? I did not know that."
I’m confident I have swayed several peoples purchase decision just by laying it all out for them. Have any of you come across this often?

If you have made it this far… In you I trust.
I ask now for your opinion on wether I should change the thread title? As most seem to be posting in response to that rather than the actual post.
Although it is kind of funny seeing just how many people do not read the post…

Anyone with that attitude doesn’t deserve to play the games, leave them in their stupid little world in my opinion :stuck_out_tongue: If they don’t have the initiative you at least research into what MCC has to offer then they can stick to playing the old games on the old consoles in their caves.

Playing games you have already played with new achievements, a single bodied multiplayer, upgraded graphics and audio, and a better platform is always far more superior. No one is forcing you to play something you don’t want to play. Just hope you make it to the MCC

Haha, but I must inform them of their folly, the more people playing the MCC the better.

To commemorate Halo 2’s anniversary.
That’s all that you should need to hear as a fan of Halo.

Because they’re fun to play?

I have the game installed on my hard drive already, sorry if my thread title mislead you, reading my post will hopefully enlighten you.

Not wanting to buy the game because “you’ve already played them” is a perfectly acceptable reason if you didn’t like the game that much to begin with. I wouldn’t pay for an HD remake of Bomberman 64 or Fable II because neither of those games were amazing enough for me to consider buying them again and doing another full playthrough. However, games like Halo: CE and Zelda: Ocarina of Time are so amazing and timeless that I would play through them again with or without modernizations.

Yeh I hear you, it’s obviously a perfectly rational reason if you’ve played them and they never really interested you behond that.

But even people I know like these games were on the fence because they simply had no idea about all the multiplayers being intact and over Xbox Live. That alone is a game changer for this collection.

Besides the extra content?

1: the anniversary games are not just HD remasters
2: playing all games on a single platform is invaluable if you are a fan

I see it on almost every outlet like ign, youtube, twitter… Remember some of these people have no interest at all they are sony ponies, or not believers either way they will lose out on this amazing collection

A friend at work tried convincing me to get a Ps4 instead of xbox one. I told him I’m a huge halo fan. His response was “Halo 5 is going to be on 360, if the 360 can handle Destiny it can handle Halo 5” I then explained to him that they’re building a brand new engine from the grand up specifically tailored to the xbox one and that a port to the 360 just isn’t feasible, not to mention the 360 wouldn’t be able to handle 1080p/60 fps and that Halo 4 was pushing the limits. Then I told him I’m also interested in the master chief collection his reply was “why it’s just old games you’ve already played” well, I haven’t really played Halo 1 or 2, only played little of 3 (multiplayer I’m talking about) and there is tons of new content that comes with this.

Halo 2 anniversary multiplayer
new prologue and epilogue for Halo 2
new achievements
halo 5 beta
Halo 2 anniversary campaign
Halo ce on xbox live
Halo nightfall
Halo 2 terminals
Halo 2 anniversary forge
That is a lot of new content and anybody who says “it’s just a repackage of old games” is misinformed.

… Bc of the graphical update with 60 FPS. Enough said.

If you’re a true Halo fan, you should be melting at the prospect of every major Halo title being in the next generation. I guess you’re just lame.

Read…unless that was not directed at the OP.

OT, I’ve run into this a lot…and it seems to be the only counter to it…I laugh at such weak points.

Oh, I get it. It’s just that I spent 100s of hours on each of the included titles… there’s new and then there’s new, you know? This will be nice for reliving past glories (and then some), so of course I’ll play lots of CE and H2A et al. But I’m more interested in what’s next, so the main reason why I’m buying the MCC is to get a feel for what Guardians will be like.

because all of their multiplayers are being revitalized. You can’t play Halo 2 online anymore. Halo 3 is all but dead and we already know what happened to Halo 4

yea I already own them all, but I’m getting to play all of them online again with my old friends and Halo CE mp for the first time ever online for me.

If you don’t want to get it because you own them already by all means don’t buy it, but don’t pretend you don’t know the reason a lot of people are excited for this.

I did read the entire thing, and my point stands.

Again… I have already bought and downloaded the game on my Xbox One, couldn’t be more excited for it.
You quoted my OP so I assumed you would have read it.
This is not about my take on the game, it’s about others and thier lack of or misinformation.

Does it? Beause I am pretty sure I’m talking about other peoples knowledge of the game and not my own.
I have downloaded the game already and my excitement for it is immense.
