Why would the Forerunners write the location of Requiem and the Halo Installations on walls of Sanghelios …
Throughout Bungie’s creation of Halo and the novels (until now) it’s been stated that all of this information was hidden due to the security and danger of the rings… even Guilty Spark and all the other monitors only knew about their rings, they knew there were others but never the location.
Why are 343i breaking major canon?

I’ve been asking myself that question for years now. Unfortunately, their canonical atrocities are now so embedded within the core narrative that they’re impossible to extract (examples of this being the prehistoric humans, the Didact’s spontaneous personality change, and the existence of the Precursors).
Yeah it’s so silly aye, they have so much already to work with, they don’t need to ruin the canon by adding or changing things… they need to be more creative!

343i’s Halo is kind of like the newer Star Wars trilogy, the visuals are real purty, but the story telling is weak, and goes against previous story.

To be fair, the story in IV - VI was better than I - III (as I - III didn’t make sense and not a lot happened)
