I couldn’t find a FFA game this morning (not surprising given the time of day) so I fired up a game of WZ assault solo. After spending 5 minutes waiting for people to quit dashboarding in the pregame lobby (they obviously knew something I didn’t) I get into a game.
After about 20 seconds into the game I’m spawning in a hail of BR bullets, but I persist. I know that I can shoot with them after I get a couple picks and get a BR of my own. Then my team quits. There’s maybe 8 of us left. About 90 seconds into the game their are 2 wasps. By 3 minutes there’s 5 of them spawn killing those of us left. over and over.
Then the most -Yoinked!- up thing happens. They let us capture the garage. Fast forward 5 minutes through unabashed spawn killing with wraiths and banshees and norfangs they do it again. Half the team is pushing 30 kills and no one on ours has broke 10 and they let us capture the next base.
Then I quit.
What the actual -Yoink-. Why is that a playlist. I can confidently say I’ll never queue in that playlist again.
Are a ton of WZ fans sado-masochists?
Help me understand what part of that is supposed to be fun?
I think of everything in the game, that’s the list I play the most. It’s perfect for solo searchers because the objectives are obvious and simple for randies. It focuses the action in specific areas, which suits my playstyle and is how I enjoy the game. You might get an occasional game like that, but it’s not often, especially after they capped party sizes at 6.
WZA is toilet… I don’t know why any one would play it. But then I don’t like any one sided objective game modes. I am surprised you couldn’t find a FFA game. I play it quite often and with my shift work I am online at all different times and I always find games.

Wait times are anywhere from 15-30 minutes if I search outside of noon-9pm CST, but I think that has to do with my level. I searched until it gave me the ‘unable to find a match’ error message and hopped over cuz I had to leave soon.
I play it because its generally fun. If I get in a game where im being farmed I try to find an inconspicuous place to hide and pick off unsuspecting enemies until the game is over. Even when being farmed I often finish positive, which makes the farmers even angrier.

Because the maps are not well designed. Its a failed attempt at Rush. I said this before. Good Battlefield maps allows for various different routes in assualting the enemy team. Halo 5 fails miserably at this as every WZ Assualt map is a spawnkilling fest.

It hardly seems acceptable that you’re actively hiding and not playing to win. That seems indicative of design flaw.
I play WZ Assault all of the time. I like it far better than regular Warzone because it is much easier to work as a team with all 12 members when you are going in solo or with a small Fireteam. There are times where that happens and you get locked down, the good thing is there is typically a variety of spawns so if they focus on one you sometimes will get moved to another and then be able to do your objective without any resistance.
I play a ton of WZ Assault and that Farming thing where a short-handed team that can’t shoot straight let alone secure any portion of the armory for over 4 minutes miraculously becomes a well-oiled machine and melts the onyx/champion level players that had curb-stomped them up until then are fortunately few and in between. I’d say maybe once in a hundred games it happens and suspect it would be more prevalent if not for the 6 man max fire team limit.
Yeah you matched up against an Allegience team that likes to stat-pad looks like. Triple Cap used to do that same strategy of letting you cap the base to extend the farm another 6 minutes. Kind of the reason I stopped playing WZA, seemed to happen more frequently.
