well today the servers was/is down , and i have been trying to find info from 343 on the subject , the natural page is this page for info from 343 , but no there is no info on it . so after lokking on Twitter , in threads on this page under different parts of the forum i start looking on reddit , and inside a reddit post there is a response from 343
now this is weird as i wood assume 343 want to communicate to the players that they know of the issue and are working on it , it shud be a post on the news page in red writing SERVERS DOWN WE ARE WORKING ON IT ! but no only response is inside a random post on reddit .
so why have this forum at all ?
shud all move to reddit and use that page ?
i under stand that server issues happen , but i dont under stand 343 and there way of communicating with players , its like we have this great place they have made but nop lets not use it and the use som random fan site for information , but hey lets just hide it as a reply so its extra hard to find , that will keep them happy and well informed .
well guess what , its not good enuff , not by a long shot , start using the forums and news page for pressing info , maybe have a server status page like the xbox live server status page showing the status of the halo servers. start reading the forums and reply accordingly , if you dont have a dedicated staff for this task go out and hire it , yesterday !
am pissed off and i feel its well deserved , and its not due to the servers are down , but the total utterly lack of information to us the players .
/rantmode and maybe we shud move to the reddit forums as we can swear like grownups there , not this -Yoinking!- crap that replaces every motherfocking word whit -yoinking- , i know you Americans are sentience to everything except killing and blod but grow a pair of nuts already the rest of the word can swear and show -Yoink- on daytime tv if so want , the kids are still fine /rantmode

Snickerdoodle isn’t on 343’s payroll, nor is she privy to any more information about the servers than you or I. We are reliant on 343 employees for that information, but they refuse to communicate on their own forums. Snickerdoodle, and any other forum mod, can say all they want about 343’s communication. It won’t change how abysmal it is.
I think it is kind of obvious that they would be working to fix server issues. Why would they need to insult our intelligence like that? But, yeah, seeing as they haven’t answered then I guess I should worry that they will leave servers broken forever, on a Halo game of all things.

I’d argue that most the insults come from frustration at being ignored. If 343 started replying frequently to the constructive threads, how many more constructive threads do you think we’d start seeing?
There is negative hate being thrown at 343 on Twitter and Reddit too. But that doesn’t stop Brav from replying there.
You want the most up to date information on all things Halo? You are in the wrong place! These forums are good because you can count on someone else finding an official post/response in one of the countless other mediums that 343 uses, then posts a topic about it here.
It really is sad that we need to follow about 30 accounts on Twitter and keep Waypoint, Reddit, Youtube, Twitch, the Halo Channel and who know what else up and constantly refreshing in order to catch any news.

I don’t know if I can agree with that. While being upset and being ignored can result in more frustration no one wants to talk to a insulting fanbase. There’s constructive criticism and then there’s pointless ranting. “You need to get your -Yoink- together 343, this game is awful, the aiming is off, I still don’t like sprint, the armor abilities need removed, I’m tired if playing on forge remade maps, ect ect” is constructive criticism. There can be some heat and cursing in them still, they don’t have to be absolutely polite criticism to be feedback. However pointless ranting “343 needs fired for their inability to make a true halo game. This game sucks and the franchise is slowly dieing due to incompetent -Yoinks!-, the fanboys need to go suck one” is not constructive. Half the forum is split just like that.

Sure didn’t stop Frankie from going to TIME and insulting people who didn’t like Cortana being evil in Halo 5 by pretentiously saying they were just young fans who don’t get subtly or nuance nor does it stop him from going to places like the Team Beyond Forums where a lot of the time he is insulted. So, no, I don’t feel it is a problem with how fans can be insulting when people like Frankie have no problem being just as insulting either and doesn’t seem to mind the insults too much. I’d just say that outside of GrimBrotherOne, a 343 story person who does a regular story-based article and responds in the Universe section mostly, the folks at 343 don’t care about Waypoint or are just too busy.

Grim is the only 343 employee that seems to know Waypoint exists, I see Catalog appear more than the other employees. Frank was really out though when he said that those who don’t understand are young fans that don’t understand, by the look of things 343 are the ones who don’t understand.
Yeah, they should at least talk to us.
I think 343i is way to silent. They just talk to pros. But 99% of us are not pro.
All they say is just: we know our game has plenty of flaws in it and maybe we fix some of those. And here you have some content that should be in the game since launch.

I could easily link a few of their posts. They post when they want to essentially but they do look over this forum at least. It’s time consuming to reply to as many posts as possible unless you have a forum group specifically for it (which they dont necessarily)Point being are people expecting 343 to reply just a little more? A lot more? How much community interaction are people wanting?
