Why won’t they put duel wielding and playable elites back in

I agree. I think that would be the best way to approach some changes. There is so much happening inside of the universe that it would be stupid to ignore it. With our Spartans being canon, the alliance with the swords it’s insane not to be exploring these other avenues.

We know Spartans aren’t just soldiers. They’re heros. The Elites are trying to reclaim home and honor! The fight against the banished is so much more then just chief on a ring yeah? There’s all sorts of stories for both species that could be explored. Not only that it doesn’t have to be 343 that creates Spartan elite stories. We know they’re willing to outsource modes and issues with the game to other companies.

Why not story expansion for MP. Leave chief to 343 and and core game modes let another company work on our Spartan/Elite stories.

Because everything needs to be “eSpOrTs ReAdY” hyper sweaty now

Honestly I think a Fracture is the perfect time to I corporate an Elite core, as opposed to a BP.

Fractures are meant to be non-canon, so if Infinite is supposed to be a “Spartan story” then having the Elite core be non-canon would instantly get around that.

They could even create the what-if scenario being what if the Covenant defeated humanity, but never managed to activate the Halo array. In that fracture it’s the Covenant that are battling the Banished for control of Zeta Halo, not the UNSC. Considering the Great Schism was the event that really turned the tide in the Covenant war, it would make sense for Elites to still be a part of the Covenant in that fracture.

So it checks all the boxes, save balancing their model size and shape to be fair for general use in PvP. Locking them out of Ranked only wouldn’t be a problem, but they should at least be close enough to be fully available in every other mode.

There’s no reason to have a non canon core. We’re allies to the Swords. No reason we can’t have a season BP and fracture (one paid core and one Spartan inspired elite core. ) And then have the next fracture be a Spartan core based on the whatever, refeature the tenrai event it fits. And honestly two armors a season and one fracture a season would be more then enough for the eye community. I mean that’s right only 20% of the Spartan armor takeaway on a season l.

As multiple designer Tyson Green of Bungie said in a vidoc on Halo 3 about duel wielding, Halo’s gameplay is about guns, grenades, and melee. Duel wielding broke this formula.

Playable elites provide an advantage. As they are near impossible to headshot from behind. Every game that’s featured playable elites has been unbalanced. Hopefully with any luck they will never return.

Exactly!! They’ve done it before why not do it again? And the thing is they can make some bad*ss sangheili armor as well!! That’s the thing that frustrates me the most XDD have the elite armor 343 makes looks far better than the Spartan armor they make lol and yeah the sos they train with Spartans too it’s called anvil initiative that’s like the perfect reason to also add em in!

Anvil season wpuld be awesome. It would be so cool if they do something like our Spartans are field ready and moving out to assist our elite companions in “Operation Anvil Strike”

It’s be a great story to do a firefight like ops story too.ive talked a lot about my idea for Fireops as I call it.

Since 343i took over the Halo Franchise. None of their games have had playable elites or duel weilding.

I don’t think they are capeable of it.

Dude that’s what this series needs is a reach style campaign where both Spartans and elites fight together and you can customize and use either your player sangheili or Spartan

The Non-Canon-ness would be used to explain changes made for balance purposes, such as scaling them down to the actual height and width of a Spartan so that they don’t have to be either massive or hunched over.

It would also enable Brutes to be added in the future through the same method.

Plus, a ton of aspects of the multiplayer’s story have been extremely Spartan centric so far. From the fact that this is exclusively a Spartan training facility, to the focus on personal AI.

Sure you could say that but now that we know the banished have made an AI, whose to say the elites haven’t as well.

Also, halo is not just a Spartan story, as much as 343 would like to spin it that way. You’re points are very valid, I will say that before hand, but the opposing canon already exists. You could even say the elites we’re training with are advanced operatives training to work along side Spartans and use UNSC SOS tech in union.

Hell you could even call the season “Blood Ties” to symbolize the path humans and sangheli have walked. Spartans and elites. Brothers in bloodshed.

I’m afraid the answer was far simpler actually, Paul Bertone just didn’t like dual wielding:
