Why will you not be buying halo 5

I know there are many of you in this community that are abismally disappointed with both Halo Reach and Halo 4, I’d like to know what you reason will be for boycotting Halo 5.

Me? I’ve been playing Halo since '01, but only played multiplayer when Reach came out.

I’ll admit the campaigns are kind of enjoyable, and no one can offer an objective opinion on the campaign, but the multiplayer experience leaves so much to be desired that I might as well switch to something more enjoyable.

Not boycotting, but I am going to wait until after the reviews and fan reaction to the game have come out. After Halo 4 I don’t think 343i is capable of telling an interesting story or making an enjoyable campaign.

Also, not buying an Xbox ONE.

I hope this doesn’t get flagged but:

I was extremely disappointed when the XBOX One was announced with all it’s restrictions. Even if they have removed it all, the damage is done. They had the audacity to think the community would accept those kinds of draconian policies.

Simple.

The Xbox One is awful.

I’m gonna wait and see if the matchmaking actually has search filters so I can play without it being teleport slayer. If it has then I’ll get it, if not I might as well borrow it since all I will be able to play properly is campaign.

Because I’m not getting an Xbox One. If I were, I would get Halo 5.

I don’t even think the search filters do anything. When they were included in Reach’s multiplayer it always seemed like a placebo affect. Sometimes the game would lag even harder even with the region lock on.

The only thing, aside from an amazingly reviewed campaign, that would make me buy Halo 5 would be if they were to actually purchase and run game servers like those used for BF3. I’m not a COD or BF3 fan but never will you experience 5 minutes of black screen while the game searches for plaeyrs/selects a host.

All I know is, when I used the search filters in 3 and Reach, it worked for me. Heck even if I didn’t use the search filters I never got as many laggy matches as I do in Halo 4. I don’t know what it is about Halo 4, but it lags a lot for me.

If I ever actually play Halo 4, I have to play a match of Flood first, before I go into Slayer or whatever. Because Flood lags the most obviously for me to tell if I am going to be able to play lag free or not.

I do the same thing, but I play swat instead of flood.

I don’t think it really matters what gametype you play first, though. From what I’ve read and the research I’ve done, the entirety of quality of the game you’re going to have is reliant on the host and his/her connection. Of course, herein lies the problem. I have 50/5 with a ping of 5ms and rarely get host. It’s not even that I’m a poor player. Both Reach and 4 have hosts that can shoot through walls.

You’d think with all the problems that existed in Halo 2, they would’ve realized having everyone connect to a server would’ve been more effective in eliminating lag.

I’ve had games like that. The laggiest games I’ve ever had were in Reach with the Good Connection option on.

If there’s no theater mode for campaign or if it’s been knocked out altogether (or if it’s really weak), I’m not going to bother.

If I find out Karen Traviss had anything to do with the story? No.
If I find out that the Dr. Halsey hate train chugs along? No.

I will be getting a PS4 instead.

Wouldn’t it just be hilarious if she was the writer, Michael Bay and JJ Abrams had been brought on to do in-game special effects and Master Chief was now voiced by Rowan Atkinson?

“I need a weapon Baldrick.”

Only Blackadder fans will get that. :3

I’m buying halo 5. Despite some of halo 4’s faults i found it over all enjoyable. Even if i hated 4’s MP entirely i’d still buy halo 5 just for the story alone.

At this point in time I’m fairly certain I won’t be getting an XB1, so Halo 5 is more or less an non issue. They remove all the DRM crap, which is good, then confess that the dashboard will be designed with advertising in mind and kinnect will collect data for advertising purposes by watching and listening to you. If they release an XB1 unencumbered by kinnect at some point, then maybe I’ll consider it. Kinnect is pushing the price up and I don’t feel inclined to pay extra for something I never liked, never wanted and wont use.

In short, I would give Halo 5 a chance, but not the platform it comes on.

I will still likely buy it despite halo 4. Halo Reach wasn’t actually that bad imo, I really enjoyed 4 player co-op campaign missions.
