Removing Team Doubles is a downright boneheaded decision there is no way around it. I have had some of the most fun with Doubles through Infinite in a long time. Apparently its now part a rotational playlist which sucks because now ranked doubles is gone and I was about to get my rank!
What’s the point of the ranked system if your rank resets so often anyways? Why invest in getting better if your rank means so little in this game? Again, removing Team Doubles was a terrible idea, and removing Big Team Social was just as bad.
Wait, so your saying your rank resets every Tuesday now? Why? And that still is NO EXCUSE for removing both Team Doubles, Big Team Social (The Yappening) and Ranked Doubles. I get why ranked FFA was removed most people myself included didn’t like it. But a better version of that should return anyways. The more ranked playlists the better.
But BTB turned back into stomp fests or total stalemates depending on the gametype. Social BTB was more interesting and more of a game of tug-of-war the whole match long. Plus being mostly Rumble Pit gametypes Social BTB is just way more fun than ARs and the standard 343 map loadouts IMO. Regardless of what 343 thinks about how competitive Halo should be, rumble pit on social game types are the core of multiplayer Halo. So yet another failure to understand what the game they’re making is supposed to be, vs. what they want it to be.
I never bothered with doubles. Or playing ranked without a party. Do normie players use headsets and communicate? I still can’t get quite back into playing Halo online the way it was on classic XBL when actually playing with serious players. Such little communication and teamwork now.
The biggest problem with Slipspace that needs rectification in the next Halo game is that Slipspace cannot add new playlists without removing other playlists in a game that, even with Forge being a considerable upgrade, still is content starved, thereby hindering the game’s potential for replayability!
Yeah I was saying in the other thread about Bots how disappointing it is that this is all the result of “UI limitations” which is code for “we didn’t hire any full time employees, just contractors, so now no one knows how anything works.” We were told that wasn’t the case for almost a year then out of no where they admit it after falling on their faces so hard trying to lie to us.
100% agree big team social was chaotic and fun and i miss that a lot. Halo infinite doesnt have enough chaos and has too small of a weapon sandbox. Seeing all the campaign weapon variants in action was pretty fun.
Yet to be Ranked Team Slayer still… Arguably one of the most popular playlists in Halo since it existed. Now THAT is a mind-boggling decision not to have it.
