Halo to me is like star wars or lord of the rings. It’s an amazing fully fleshed out universe, with complicated charachters, crazy technology but most of all, a great story.
Halo was my first game on the xbox, the fact that the story, gameplay, graphics, dialouge, music, mystery… etc were something i had never sen in a game. I have read all the books, played all the games and halo just keeps getting better.
Halo appeals to everyone from hardcore multiplayer gamers, people looking for a new world to lose themselves into or just create a crazy gametype or develope their own map. You can have it all. I could rant for hours about how much i love the lore, gameplay and charachters of the haloverse.
343 is putting all of that love into one game: Halo 4. They have spent countless hours writing, polishing and creating a new campaign. Using motion capture, having the voice actors in the room together so they can interact, and making halo about the MC’s humanity. Bringing in new enemy types is something long overdue.
They created spartan ops, a new gametype which will not only extend the lore but also bring friends together to play as their own spartan and explore requiem. I still cant believe that there are so many episodes and this will be just as imersive as the campaign.
They improved forge, i am not big on creating maps but from what my FORGECRAZY friends say, it looks very promising.
The multiplayer: 343 has brought back some old faves while creating mindblowing new weapons. Spartan cuztomisation is at a unprecedented level, so much armor! Creating new gametypes like flood, while also retaining old favorites; even making a vanilla playlist. 343 has worked on balancing armor abilites and making them feel more “haloish”, while also developing many new maps, as well as a remake. Instead of copying and pasting parts of campaign ( IM LOOKING AT YOU HALO REACH).
The music: Sure it’s different, but honestly it fits the halo universe and i love it. It has a more “cinematic” feel and each and every track is diffrent and wondefull. Everyone has a diffrent taste in music. But it is not like they just made generic boring music. This has SOUL.
To the halo community: Everyone has different ideas of what would make the perfect halo game, we as individuals have similar and opposite tastes… It would be impossible to create a game that everyone would see as 100% perfect. Please stop all the attacking and bringing down others. 343 could have left chief in space forever.
In 2001 we came together and played this game called halo ce. From system to link to live, halo has been a source of joy, comfort, creativity and sometimes anger. I know it is hard but let us all come together again on november 6th and remeber why we love halo.
