Why we no get dual wielding?

I know dual wielding won’t be possible in halo 4 but did they ever explain why it won’t be there or if it would return in the future?

Dual Wielding was great in Halo 2. But they really messed it up in Halo 3. But anyway, it’s alot more simple to keep it single wield. Requires less work to balance weapons.

343i were too lazy to try to balance them so they just cut it entirely. Not like they could just vastly increase bloom/recoil when using dual wielded weapons or anything like that so single wielding is still viable. It worked in Halo 3, so I see no reason why it wouldn’t work in Halo 4.

Something about balancing. I dunno.
It looked cool!

Let’s say the Mjolnir Gen 2 doesn’t have the Second Hand sensor-HUD crosshair programs like it did with the Mark VI.

Welll canonically I think it would have something to do with him being in cryosleep…Maybe…

Bungie explained various reasons in a Reach vidoc why they removed it, Im sure 343 has a similar mindset on the subject

We get two primary weapons as bonus but no Dual wield tisk tisk 343.

I LOL’d at this. Dualwielding by nature is either overpowered or totally useless look at some of the games that have it, CoD/Halo 2 it is op and broken, Halo 3 was useless. Better to not have it and balance out the guns normally instead of adding another thing to worry about.

I think that’s weird, too!
A guy can have a DMR and a BR from the get-go!

Something tells me 343i isn’t lazy based off of what they have accomplished so far… They have a design in mind for Halo and duel wielding was not a part of it. In all honesty, thats fine by me. It was a cool feature, but It was never part of the reason I was so attached to Halo.

I just assumed its the fact that not many weapons looks “dual-wieldable”
I mean the only single handed guns so far are the Plasma Pistol, Magnum, and Needler?
correct me if I’m wrong but the Storm rifle replaced the Plasma Rifle right?
And even then the Needler wasn’t “dual-wieldable” in H3 cause they wanted to make it a more viable weapon.
Unless they announce more smaller single handed weapons then there wouldn’t be a point for putting it in, as all it would do is make those single handed weapons less powerful alone.

Basically no SMG’s = no point of Dual wielding.

I think there is a system of which primarys you can dual equip. I doubt you can enter with a dmr and br. probably variations of preccision rifles and spread weapons like the ar or storm rifle
