Why we need party restrictions.

So some genius at Microsoft’s Xbox division decided it would be an awesome idea to bundle Halo Reach with new 360’s this holiday season. Low and behold Reach gets an influx of new players to help bolster its depressing population. The fact that Reach has no party restrictions means that most of these new poor SOBs will get matched up against full parties. Now what’s going to happen is most of these new players will become frustrated with Reach and go buy CoD and not give two -Yoink- when Halo 4 launches.

Now can 343i get their heads out of their -Yoinks!- and implement party restrictions? Reach doesn’t even need big party restrictions, 4+ would be ideal. Prove me wrong. Oh, and if you spawn kill to farm kills (when slayer isn’t the objective), your opinion isn’t valid. You’ve already proven you care only about pixel medals and stats, and not for what’s best for Halo as a whole.

Yeah, that seems like a big problem waiting to happen.

Can 343 implement such restrictions with the speed required? I remember that back when MM was in Bungie’s hands, I think they stated that they couldn’t update more frequently than monthly.

Maybe the problem is not parties, but rewarding people for playing properly, instead of abusing objective gametypes to boost K/D and earn digital medals.
What if you disable sprees, and all non-objective medals? And if you give massive CR bonuses for scoring objectives and winning?

Whatever happened to the “invisible” ranking we supposedly had?

The matchmaking system in Reach is a joke.

Still, I won’t complain until I get that inevitable team full of Legends and above in BTB…

We should be given a search option to look for nothing but random players or nothing but players in similar sized groups.

Full teams don’t bother me at all, thats what Halo has always been about, heck its fun when you do good against a full team. What dose bother me is when some little snot nosed kid and 3 of there little friends end up on my team in Invasion becasuse they have 4 controlers. That sucks!

Of all the tings wrong with Reach, the lack of party restrictions is the worst. After over a year of playing Reach, I’m still unable to find a single good reason as to why after a trilogy of parties not matching randoms, Bungie thought to suddenly throw away all party restrictions would be a fantastic idea.

It’s getting awkward sometimes to destroy a team in MM 100-2 because we weren’t equally matched, I don’t want easy kills, i want to earn to kills because the guys against me are a challenge not an easy kill.

we don’t need party restrictions. we need a better matchmaking system so it chooses randoms of greater skill. playing with randoms in halo 3 wasn’t so bad because it would choose players that were just as good as my friends and I.

Yep, the skill matching system is too loose be default. It improves to atleast halo 3 levels if you select match fro skill though i heard.

Its strange, the trueskill system is there and it works, they just dont utilise it to the full potential.

I’m sure they can. Everything is done on their end without the need for us to download anything.

Party restrictions are part of a better MM system.
