This may or may not be a repost of an already discussed topic (if so, I apologize), but I feel the need to make it clear.
I’ve played Halo 4 for a while and I’m enjoying it thus far. A few things here and there could be tweaked a bit, but all in all it’s a pretty decent game.
However, I know many people have their issues with it and would much prefer it to be more like Reach, Halo 3, Halo 2 or whatever. I personally think that the only thing really wrong with this game is the matchmaking system, namely the “Join a Session in Progress” feature.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a great addition to the game as a way to prevent a team game from being totally ruined due to someone on your team quitting. However, I cannot stress enough that this should not be something that gets dropped on you when you’re trying to start a fresh game. There have been many times where I would get put into a game where my team was down by a large amount of points or the game was less than 30 seconds away from being finished. I absolutely hated this in COD, which is why I played Halo much more.
While I do think this is a necessary feature, I find it even more necessary that this needs to be OPTIONAL. Players should get to choose when to find a game in progress and when to just find a lobby. Being dropped into a losing game where the odds are all stacked against you is infuriating and happens all too often.
Simply put, the next update should address this issue and make joining a game in progress a setting or optional in some way.
