Why we have seen so little of the game

if you think about it, we have only seen gameplay from one mission, the opening cutscene and a handful of very short clips that may or may not actually be in the game. This raises questions. Is most of the game unfinished? Do they just want to keep most of it a secret? What is the rest of the game like? Personally I think they are mostly just trying to keep the plot a secret, but it is unnerving

They’re keeping it a secret because 343 was the laughing stock of the industry back in July and fan reception was overwhelmingly negative. It’s likely been delayed to work on the issues present in the July gameplay reveal

I dont think that’s the reason for the delay or silence. It may have been a factor, but there’s no way they just delayed the game due to mediocre graphics. There definitely were some things unfinished to get the game delayed. I think 343 had been wanting to delay the game for a while but Microsoft had been pushing them to make the 2020 release.

^ Both but I’d imagine more so the latter. COVID did have an impact however the total impact wouldn’t be known without more info and would be merely speculation.

Similar to what Brutal Vengeance said, I think its more of a number of factors that bubbled over, with both what was said and some other things that weren’t as much being parts of the reason why the game was delayed. If anything, the delay is why we haven’t been getting anything super substantial since July, but the delay itself I believe was both due to the problems COVID gave 343 and the reaction to the delay. COVID was already getting them nervous about meeting the November deadline, and the reaction to the delay might’ve been the thing that pushed Microsoft/343 to delay the game. That said, that’s pretty much speculation, and I don’t know the full story.

343 said they’re getting plans in order to talk more about Infinite later, which sounds good. I think they will show something a bit more soon. But with the many, many questions we have, and the toy/reward reveals we’ve been seeing, there isn’t a lot of good the lack of info is doing for this game. I’d love to know the state of the game, and I have some hope we’ll see more soon, but as for now a lot of us are just unsure about a lot of features for this game. Like, when was the last time we heard about Forge? When will we heard something from 343 about Multiplayer? How bad are the microtransactions?

We’re really just going to have to wait and see what they’re going to say. Simply put, the lack of info isn’t helping anyone, but it especially isn’t helping 343.

The explanation that makes most sense is that because the launch is delayed so is marketing. Once we get a soft release date (like Q1 or holiday or whatever) we will see more ramped up marketing.

I was thinking the lack of new infinite content might’ve been due to Covid19 and the delay of the game. I’m sure they’ll gives us more content when the time is right and hopefully in 2020.

I’m still hoping that we will get to see Multiplayer soon

I understand the reasons behind the delay. That’s life.

But I really don’t understand the dead silence we are getting. There is so much they could be drip feeding us to keep us going without spoiling much anything.

It all started off so well… some posts, a bit of MP info, and those beautiful music excerpts.

And then the void.

Technically with the release of the Monster Promotion, Mega Construx, Nerf, Best Buy statue, etc. and now the Taco Bell commercial…they’ve been drip feeding us information and thus increasing the hype without giving the community much at all. Its quite genius actually.

I think we will most likely see a new gameplay footage from the upcoming Halo Infinite on November 2020 or December 2020. I can also see 343 Industries reveal the next Halo Infinite gameplay footage after Halo 4 coming out on Steam.

They are probably nervous that they will mess Halo up again. They have created two mediocre titles so far, and the fan reception was bad when they revealed Infinite a few months ago. They are being quiet until they have a better product to show, plus they brought in Joseph Staten so hopefully he will be able to help.

See, I think the opposite. I’m not hyped at all now, nor Is anyone I know now. That gameplay reveal pretty much killed it for me and others I know. I question a lot of their decisions and it definitely did not look next generation. I don’t care about all these promotions. I didn’t mind the taco bell commercial admittingly, but still… I think right now the only hype they have is all negative, which isn’t good obviously.

What might get some hype back for me or maybe even a lot, would be show me some multiplayer!

People can say whatever they want but multiplayer is a lifeblood of Halo. If 343 want to bring real hype back, then they need to show some multiplayer or at least discuss some things to do with it or something!

I think we’ve seen so little of the game for many reasons. I think part of it is they’re trying to keep the plot secret, I think part of it is they know there’s going to be some backlash to some of the decisions they make to do with the free to play and they don’t want to have months of negative press leading up to launch, I think covid definitely set some things back for them and I think the other reason for the lack of information is they had a very lukewarm reception to their first demo and they want to let the negative “hype” per say, die down somewhat before revealing more.

I’m starting to get some serious Anthem vibes from this…

Sorry by hype I meant publicity. The fact that you’re on a forum for halo talking about halo is all they wanted to happen. Whether you’re purchasing monsters, toys, etc or not. The fact that the idea is in your head was all that needed to happen. Speculation, rumors, etc. all meant to re-engage the community and get the “talk” going thus it is in fact working

monster thing was meh…i’m one of the few gamers who doesn’t care about “cosmetics”.

The thing that i found weird was that the 1 minute trailer that came out after gameplay reveal was all about that specific mission in the demo. There were no other areas shown or any other characters from the game.

ehhh i don’t know about that. not all publicity is good publicity. as far as “what they want to happen” i can assure you they (as in 343/microsoft) cares more about making money than they do getting people to talk about the game. so yeah getting hype or buzz around your product is important and great advertisement but at the end of the day if people aren’t happy with the product then its clearly going to have a huge impact on the revenue the game brings in.

I’m sure what they want is to make majority of the fanbase as pleased with the product as possible because happy customers = more sales

as far as all the toys and taco bell/monster crap, it’s probably just releasing now because it was all planned far in advance before the games delay otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing that stuff until closer to launch

After the problems with Halo 5 (showing too much too early and then changing it anyway) they are probably a bit protective of the campaign story.

And that’s good. I’m all for avoiding spoilers.

I personally think that they’re fixing and polishing things before the next reveal, because if its shown like how it was in July people will then say that nothing has changed.
