This would have been one of the best maps in the game: The map from Episode 2 Chapter 5 of Spartan Ops. It’d be perfect for multiplayer.

He doesn’t show off the entire area, but the main area of the map. As the exterior, there’s a really nice forest setting. I’d suggest playing the Chapter to fully explore the location. It would have been one of the best maps in the game. They should’ve used locations straight out of Spartan Ops for some of their maps.
I’ll add a poll, should they release this as a map?
would of been to competitive for 343’s taste.
You’re probably right, it’s such a shame, the revolving ball in the middle of the map would have been so memorable as well. This would have been a map to remember.

agreed when u first played that spartan ops mission i thought it should be a MP map
I dunno, I’m not convinced that it would work well as a multiplayer map… There would be way too many open areas, and the design of the map is a little too simple.
I wondered the same thing myself. Honestly, there are portions in a lot of the Spops maps that could be well suited for competitive play. If 343 doesn’t have the time or resources to design completely new maps they should reuse the Spartan Ops levels.
I’m not sure how tedious that would be, but I’m sure it’s a lot less time consuming than building maps from the ground up.
Many other Halo maps in the past have been this simple. Anyway, don’t you think with a normal amount of open space (which this map offers), it would make it more fun to play on. To me it seems like there’s the perfect amount of cover. I mean, that makes Halo. Abandon for example, holy, there’s no way of killing anyone on that map, they just run away due to how small it is, and all the cover. This map would be perfect.
Lockup from Spartan Ops Season 1 Part 2 would make a great location for a multiplayer map too. It’d be an awesome Invasion map as well.
No idea why they didn’t use more areas from Spartan Ops/ Campaign. Those were ideal as hell.
What about the ones from “Galileo Base” and “Shootout in Valhalla”?
Man, those would’ve been great.
If you’d like, I can recreate the area in Forge and set it to work for all gametypes.
I’ve been trying to find motivation to start forging again, so I’d be happy to take on the project.
U sir are right! this would make an awesome map!!..put a power weapon on that middle area in the circle…and people can catch nades all day trying to grab it ha! Hey 343 make it happen! Shoudnt be too hard since its already kinda made. It can be like a present to all us who have stuck with this game and love it faults and all.
Exactly, just like how Bungie gave Cold Storage in Halo 3. It should definitely happen, but if it doesn’t somehow, that forge recreation sounds great.
Anyone remember that giant open field where we had to take down the lich? (Where we had all the warthogs)
Why wasn’t that a forge map? Could you imagine that area with a Delta Halo pallet and the ability to place a LICH as a piece? Think of the maps that could be made…
So much wasted potential in those maps. So, so much.
There are a lot of wasted opportunities not only in Halo 4’s Spartan Ops but in the campaigns of previous games.
I wish we had the ability to Forge in Campaign and SpOps. I would be really excited to see what the community could create. The possiblities would be endless.
More maps from SO should be in MM, some of them are great
In all honesty, I think all of the SpOps maps could work well in multiplayer. With complete forge palettes, hopefully different ones, they could be amazing for certain gametypes. Apex would have a lot of potential, especially if they allowed us to place Pelicans and Phantoms on the map in forge since the Pelican is already known to be drivable.
I want 343 to consider making a free “Spartan Ops” pack, full of all the great Spartan Ops maps. They already have them created… The rest shouldn’t be too hard.
Yup, it’s all about generosity at this point. This game has the potential to revolutionize Halo, Spartan Ops maps in multiplayer, and controllable pelicans in multiplayer would help towards that goal.
