Why wasn't Johnson in Halo 4?

Johnson has been in every Halo game so far, so why is he absent this time around? And yes, I know he’s dead. But why couldn’t we be haunted by the ghost of Johnson like how Cortana did in those annoying things in Halo 3?

Being dead has never stopped Johnson before, so why should it now? I killed him myself at least 30 times over the course of Halo: CE and 2.

There really wasn’t a big need for that. There was nothing that connected the two from what I saw.

A big need for what?

Well he was promised to get a girl in Halo 4 so…

Technically, Johnson never died in Halo 1, no one ever said he did. In the beginning of Halo 2, one of the Marines ask Johnson how he “got of that ring”, to which he replies “That’s classified.”

In one of the books, I remember reading that Johnson was picked up by a Pelican, along with Halsey and a few others. Don’t quote me on that though, I may have been dreaming.

I think Bungie made it clear in Halo 3 that he had actually been shot, however we’re also never told he’s dead. For all we know he could have gotten up, found a Banshee and flew to safety away from the ring in time before it exploded.

But I guess 343 wants him DEAD.

Well, he used his Johnson magic to teleport through the power of inter-species hugging back to Earth. It was used off screen again in Halo 2 with the Arbiter and Miranda.

The whole pelican thing was a coverup. If the Covenant knew about Johnson magic, we would surely be doomed.

Johnson didn’t die in Halo CE because he is secretly a Spartan I, so he couldnt get infected by the Flood

No need for a flashback, because number 1, let’s remember, the Chief been out for 4 years. Im pretty sure he slept all that off. (Or not. Who knows)

But, regardless, after completing the storyline, I can’t really see a necessity for a Johnson flashback. The Cortana one was relevant because there was something more going on. It was kind of a foreshadow to the end of the trilogy. (His lifesigns zeroing out and what not.)

There’s nothing there IMO.

Johnson is in Halo 4! He’s just at the great Halo ring in the sky where people go when their time has come :frowning:

Serious answer: There is no way he survived. Thats like saying Noble Six survived. He was shot right in the chest and when the Chief activated Installation 04b and the bridge tilted, you could see Johnson’s body fall off.

But they would be foreshadowing Johnson as the final enemy boss in Halo 6.

What Bungie did to Johnson at the end of Halo 3 should be considered the greatest of sins. Damn them for that…

I do think Johnson should have been an easter egg in Halo 4, though. It didn’t even have to make sense. It’s an easter egg…most don’t make any sense at all.

What?

Wait you didn’t find the Johnson Easter egg yet??

There isnt one.

The one where the little kid thinks a black sergeant that spawns is Johnson, doesnt count

Wat

> Wait you didn’t find the Johnson Easter egg yet??

I don’t know what you people are talking about. That is not Johnson on the Infinity once you kill everyone. That is not Johnson.

I’m pretty sure he’s dead. I mean, he DID take a huge laser beam to the chest while wearing paper mache armor. And even with that, the nuke like explosion of The Ark certainly would’ve done it.

It’s going to be a HUGE stretch just to bring him back. But, considering the direction the story is going, I can safely say they aren’t going that way.

I’m not trying to be negative or prove you wrong. I’m just going with what we’ve seen.

This.

As I said
