I mean we have hivemind, hammerhead, and hazop all 3 are designed for hazardous zones (though hivemind was made for flood zones but I digress) and yet out of the 3 only (as far as we know) hazop goes to full production so why did hivemind and hammerhead get the boot?
We have no idea if Hivemind and Hammerhead made it to final production. Seeing as they are prototypes and might not even be considered GEN2.

Yeah the status of the Anvil armours is quite interesting

They are still undergoing testing.
What I don’t understand is how HAZOP Gen-II didn’t get to be carried over from Halo 4 to Halo 5? A few armors were dropped from H4 to H5 for some reason. (EOD, Oceanic, Vanguard, and the 4 DLC armors of Mark V, ODST, Prefect, and Ricochet.)

same can be said for the ranger armor as the flavor text for it in h5 says its stopped production

True, but it was at least featured in Halo 5. Like seriously, 8 armor sets weren’t carried over from Halo 4 for no reason given. Same goes for the two new designs from the halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer. Heck, the cut Hayabusa armor could’ve been put in Halo 5. And don’t even get me started on the fact that the Gen-I helmets pack left out like 2/3 of the Gen-I helmets that exist so far as we know.

I believe 343 have said that if a armor set wasn’t in h5 that didn’t mean unless it said somewhere that it wasn’t being made their still in production so maybe gen 2 hazop, EOD, oceianc are still being used and may return later

All I am saying is that it is a missed opportunity. Halo 5’s customization was a step back in terms of how much we could mix-&-match, but the lack of every pre-existing GEN-II armor not being carried over into the sequel just tells me one thing : they goofed up. Not to mention the fact that it was also bad business wise.
We all hate Microtransactions and Lootboxes, but we can all agree that the lootbox system of Halo 5 was 1000x better than any other lootbox system ever made, at least when it came to the cosmetics. There was no such things as duplicate items, which meant that you could unlock just about the entire armory through lootboxes alone. I myself do wish that many of the armors had a challenge to obtain them, or in the very least, that they would keep their challenge (Helioskrill). But with that no-duplicates policy, that pretty much ensured that players that buy REQs for the sole purpose of completing the collection will easilly do so. Had there been all 11 armors and 18 helmets I have mentioned in my previous posts, that would mean another few packs to buy for one to complete the collection. And that is excluding the fact that all the armor paintjobs and weaponskins from Halo 4 didn’t get carried over either. Which if 343 did so, it would have added ~150 more variants to unlock when it comes to armors and helmets.
It was a bad decision to not do so, as it would have probably netted them some extra cash in their lootbox income. Plus, a lot of us would’ve really liked to have some of the armors they had left out.

Big note: Just cause its not in Halo 5 doesnt mean the armor was dropped in-universe. It just means those sets were not thought to be brought back for the game.
By all means a Vanguard-clad spartan could appear during/after Halo 5 in-universe if 343i wanted.

I’m not saying it is no longer in production. I am saying that I am annoyed that it was NOT put into the Halo 5 armory for a customization option.
