Nothing was mentioned afaik in the lead-up to the game and I only noticed it was gone as i read a forum post while I was installing Disc 1. I didn’t think I would care but to be honest I actually do miss it, it makes recording your kills kind of pointless, and Spartan Ops especially so.
I cant think of any reason off the top of my head aside from encouraging bad ingame behaviour as to why was it removed.
Has there been any official word on why scoring was removed?

Would have been a good idea to keep for Spartan Ops leaderboards.
They didn’t give a reason, along with the million other things that they took out of the game. Which I still don’t understand why they took out more things then they put in. Kinda pisses me off…
yeah i was really bummed out about it.
scoring was one was to give the game replayabillty, going back and getting a better score was fun. not sure why they removed it but i hope there is some way they can put it back.

I don’t even know if i’m getting kills in campaign anymore.
The scoring system was good to let you know that you got a guy in a dark area of the map. What i am mad about is that took out medals in spartan ops, i liked hearing jeff in firefight. I dont feel like the game is that bad, but there are some little things that irritates the crap out of me. Why did they leave out those little details.
