i didn’t inspect when jul’mdama sets requiems coordinates to the sun just to destroy the UNSC Infinity ship. oh well there’s no exploring that planet anyway now i wounder whats spartan ops season two is going to take place on installation 03 and the flood will return some of you people think lets just see whats going to happen at E3 2013 when 343 is going to show off halo 5 trailer and halo 4 Spartan ops season 2 trailer. 1 random thing, when requiem is destroyed this what she have to say.
Well Jul had everything he wanted and he was ready to leave, so he decided to the destroy the planet so that the UNSC couldn’t snoop around and explore the place after he left, of course that is only my opinion and has no real evidence to support it.

dose he still have the Prometheans on board when they left requiem?
It’s weird - considering Jul is mean to be one of the last “True Believers” surely it’d be gross blasphemy for him to destroy a Forerunner world? Or is he portrayed as a heretic in the novels?

Jul wants revenge against the Humans. Infinity is their biggest vessel, and home to most of the Spartan IV’s, and was trapped above Infinity. Yeah, you’re destroying a Forerunner world, but you’re also decimating a key ship and faction in the post-war UNSC.
With Requiem gone I believe there won’t be a season 2. Halo 5 also has a wide range of options at its disposal; maybe we’ll fight on Earth again.
343 needs a new way of implementing the Prometheans. I hope they don’t just start appearing on the rings for no reason.
I find it hard to believe that someone who worships Forerunners would actually destroy an entire shield world of theirs. That part didn’t really seem right to me either.
Jul doesn’t worship them, jul pretends to. He’s more of an atheist who uses the covenant religion to manipulate his followers so that he can achieve common goals.
The destruction of humanity.

This.

> The destruction of humanity.
OK, thanks. That makes more sense then.
How do you know this - is it revealed in a book or something?

It’s in The Thursday War, the most recent book

OK, thanks. That’s on my shelf at the moment but I still haven’t gotten around to reading it yet!

He’s not religious, hes lying to his army, its a long story
Well before you ask Why was requiem destroyed, ask yourself, “why not?”

A long story that will likely never be told despite giving Jul some actual depth as a character an antagonist.
More to the point though, I think a magic button that anybody can press to send Requiem into a nearby star is a huge gaping flaw, but then again Frankie thought sending it into the star would be cool and 343i could think of nothing better so…into the star it goes.
There is no flaw on Jul using the button, IMO. It is possible that The Didact imprinted Jul the same way the Librarian did with MC. Also remember that the final Kilo 5 book is still on the way, and we dont know what Jul did between TTW and H4 yet. Maybe he found a Didact’s essence somewhere and now he is part Didact.

Two problems. 1. If Jul did get an imprint, why is that never explained? 2. If he does get an imprint in the last book…that is still pretty bad storytelling in Halo 4 because it requires you to go out of your way to make sense of a plot point.
I mean if the Flood ever breached Requiem…then good bye Requiem.
Why did requiem get destroyed? Because 343 were clearly drunk and cared very little for the thoughts of fans when they were pratting about with Spartan Ops. So many different things done with no respect to the audience.
