Why was Halo 4 rushed? Here is why...

Supposely a new Halo game will come out every 2 years. One could think they are trying to copy COD* with this and other gameplay elements. Maybe im just a conspiracy nut on the internet again huh?

“Kudos to Activision because they’ve done a good job building a good game, continuing to release each year and I think the fans feel like it’s a good thing that they do that.” He added that, “watching them and seeing what they do – we take inspiration from a lot of places – but obviously they’re a big success.”

That’s not just some guy saying that, thats VP of Microsoft Games Phil Spencer saying this. May the Forerunners save us all.

*In case you dont know, COD has 2 different developers dishing out their game every 2 years

I wouldn’t really call Halo 4 rushed given it’s history.

I think 343 spent 3 years working on the game. It was rushed because, like for most AAA titles, there is a strict deadline that the developers have to meet. Microsoft wanted the game out November 6th, so the devs had to get it out november 6th. They were probably in crunch time for over a year, and after so much stress and the release of the game they went on vacation. This is why there are title updates. Things will get fixed, things will be changed, and 343 will start becoming more active with the game again once everyone returns from their well deserved vacation.

I do not like the game that much. I think the gameplay is fantastic but there are many issues making the experience very frustrating. I understand these things can be fixed, and think that 343 deserves a break from being rushed to get the game out on time. Halo 2 was the same way. Bungie was rushed, many things didn’t make it into the final game, and there were issues at launch, but post patch the game was fantastic. Give it time.

Doesn’t seem rushed.

But then again, i’ve played Brink.

3 years on the game and a lot of work outsourced to other studios.

-Yoink!- Needed to beat cod so they released it a week earlier. Really bad how it was shipped so unfinished.

yea it was big and i think the biggest problem with these things in terms of say forge being lack luster is probably bad communication between certain affanity and 343. As frankie said there was a lot of stuff they wanted to add but couldnt this could of been a refrence to that and many other things as well and is a very very common occerance in game design.
