So the Spartan IV’s are part of a training program onboard a ship in space called the UNSC Infinity. That’s pretty cool. Why in space and on a ship though? Wouldn’t it be easier if they were training on a planet or something?
However, maybe they’re using the Infinity to be dispatched on missions like Spartan Ops when they’re ready or something. idk

That’s probably what their doing.
Read Glasslands and you’ll understand the state of the Earth and her colonies along with their relationship with the many different species that were part of the Covenant. The Spartan IVs are almost like a deterrent; just in case another war were to start. And the secrecy is because humanity is trying to play nice with everyone else right now, but not everyone feels they should be letting their guard down completely.

Your guess is exactly what they are doing.
Infinity is classified top-secret, so I wouldn’t be suprised if the Spartan IV’s were top-secret aswell.

So the Elites don’t know about the Spartan IV’s?

I would guess not.
The humans also probably don’t want to repeat Reach. Think about it, it’s a lot easier to find an entire planet than a ship with cloaking capabilities.
A virtual training sim can provide a nearly infinite (lol pun) training scenarios for any engagement. You get what you get on a planet.

The UNSC Infinity has cloaking capabilities? But still, where is the Infinity going? Is it just crusing around? Staying in one place? What would happen if it was found? Advanced tech such as sensors could probably easily find it if it was near the Infinity.

Well, we know that it does end up on Requeum - How it gets there however is anybody’s guess.
Yeah, if they are staying near human - colonized planets to aid in Spartan Op missions, why would they drift so far out into space that they reach Requiem?
Because mind bogglingly expensive, super secret, super soldiers demand mind bogglingly expensive, super secret, super ships.
There’s also the fact that putting the multiplayer on the Infinity helps connect the multiplayer backstory, Spartan Ops and campaign together, since we know that we will be seeing the Infinity at one point in the campaign. It’ll be amazing to see everything flow together so well!

It was far away from earth just hiding in case the covenant defeats the last remant of humanity, I wonder if the ship have civilians living there or just militia and some scientists
