Ok so ive been a competitive halo player since halo 2. I was nationally ranked and placed top 32 at 2 mlg events. I am a teue halo lover, its my favorite console game series that has ever been released and i can tell you right now that 343 has to have made one of the single dumbest decisions i have ever seen in a game release. WHY WOULD YOU MAKE A GAME THAT YOU SAID WAS DESIGNED TO BE MORE GEARED TOWARDS ESPORTS AND LAUNCH IT WITH NO PLAYLISTS AT ALL THAT HAVE BATTLE RIFLE/DMR START. oh you say its because you want it to he looked at as a power weapon? Ok well news flash… the pistol is just as strong as the DMR. i would hate to know how many long time fans have already taken thia game out of their xbox and mever plan on putting it back in. The beta for halo 5 was so good. I told everyone that it was by far the best halo somce halo 2… but the fact that they launched it without a single playlist for esports players means that i rank this game launch right up there with Halo:MCC for all time terribad launches… i just dont understand how a company who says their plans with the halo series is “made by halo fans, for halo fans” could literally take such a good game and turn it in to a game that i would call “meh its ok” and think that they made a good decision… congrats 343… you did for the halo series exactly the same thing halo reach did… make the fans think… “wtf… this game is terrible”. If they dont add BR start to the game soon… they can kiss thousands of looooong time players foodbye… myself included…

I’ve been playing Halo since CE first released, The Fall of Reach is my 2nd favorite novel of all time, and I am absolutely loving Halo 5. The fact that there are no BR/DMR starts anymore are a HUGE contributing factor to that.
They have pros that basically built what the mm is, so yeah you have pros telling them daily what works. That was and is their jobs with 343.
Pretty sure pros can tell them what feels better for competetive play.

You really shouldn’t just state your opinion and claim that thousands of players agree with you with no proof to back it up.

I made top 32 a couple times as well in Halo 3, and even made very high in the brackets for Halo 2. See, now we have a commonality so you can trust in my next few sentences a bit more. I also understand your frustration with the starting weapon choices but you need to calm your -Yoink- down and play the game. It’s been out for two days. Halo 2 and Halo 3 did not launch with a hardcore playlist with dedicated BR starts, and I’m fuzzy about Reach and 4, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be. The game is leaps and bounds better than Reach and 4. The game isn’t perfect, but neither were Halo 2 or 3.
