Why they should "remake zanzibar"

The “remake” of zanzibar from halo 2 to halo 3 was not a true remake. Halo 3’s last resort added upon zanzibar and make it different. For example in the main base, there were more catwalks, and there was a catwalk on the perimeter of the base side. They “could” remkae other maps as long as they evolve them.

Also, remaking zanzibar would allow to witness how halo has progressed visually and gameplay-wise, so i think it would be interesting.

It would also please many fans as well.

Honestly, i’ll pop a -Yoink!- if we see anything similar to Zanzibar.

how about they make new quality maps instead of remakes of old maps…

Your Zanzibar sounds like my Sandtrap. How I love Sandtrap.

Any map remake from Halo 2 would show the visual progression in the games evolution, but if I had to pick one map remake for Halo 4, it would be Sandtrap. (Or Valhalla, Avalanche…)

Because we and Frankie like that map.

> Because we and Frankie like that map.

That directed at my post?

I’m sure Frankie and the Halo community like all of the maps in Halo in one way or another.

I’d personally like to see something new. Not saying it can’t come back as DLC, but I’m not liking this communities constant obsession with remakes.

I’d love a remake of Zanzibar/Last Resort, but I’d like it to be new. Maybe instead of being set on Earth, it could be set on this Forerunner world we’ll be on. Instead of a big human spinning turbine in the middle, it could be some circular Forerunner device spinning. Instead of a human base, it could be a Forerunner base. Instead of the gate you can open, it could be an shield barrier. The ocean would still have to be there, of course.

If i may re-write the OP. . .

In Halo 4, -Yoink!- new maps need to be a priority. If we were to see any remakes of old maps. which ones would you like to see?

This is the only map I believe is note-worthy to be “remade”. And it waouldnt rellay be a remake. IT would be an evolution. Thats a good thing

Even if it’s exactly the same, just with a different architectural style?

To deception

they could prolly change the style-- but it wuold be likely that they would add something to differentiate the gameplay from last resort. For example, they could add tunnels or something to Beach Side among other things

Sandtrap <3
Valhalla <3
Sidewinder/Avalanche <3

You are my kind of person. Also, I am deeply in love with Sandtrap, it is a really unique map both visualy (awesome dunes) and gameplay-ly (Elephants, awesome BTB, CTF with Elephants). It would be awesome to see it return in an upgraded fashion to Halo 4. I would literally cry.

OT: Zanzibar <3

now theres a good map

That’s good to know!

You see, I am an advocate of Big Team Battle. I have seen it evolve so much on Halo 3, starting with the primary maps of Last Resort, Sandtrap and Valhalla, going through to Ranked Big Team, and then finishing with Big Team on the Mythic Maps.

It’s a shame to see how poor BTB is in Reach. I never noticed any kill farming and no objective pursuit in Halo 3. Whether it was Territories, VIP or CTF, the objective was always played.

For me, Big Team is where all of the fun is. Sure, I can have fun in Team Slayer or Infection, but Big Team is what made me fall in love with Halo multiplayer. Vehicular combat, team-orientated assaults, huge open skirmishes…

Maps like Avalanche, Sandtrap, Valhalla, Last Resort and even on the rare occasion Isolation, are my type of maps. Big, Wide, and open to an infinite realm of multiplayer possibilities.

Indeed. I love Big Team. It’s the reason I play Halo online. The only problem I have it is when I am playing with a team of randoms and the other team is a full group of friends that just dominates the game. Ninety-eight percent of the time, they’ll win. I’m hoping, with Halo 4, there’ll be a search option where you can only have a party size of up to two people. So there’s no more getting matched up against a group of people.

Yeah, I would much rather have brand new and amazing maps. When i pay 60-150$ I expect a brand new game

You can’t perfect Zanzibar any more than it already is. It has enough things on it. All you can do is graphically update it. As good of a map it is, we don’t need it a 3rd time around …

My main playlist back in H3 (where I spent 90% of my MP time) was BTB but I practically never play it in Reach… The maps aren’t good enough and Classic is really fun so I don’t bother.

Zanzibar and Last resort were probably my favorite Halo 2/3 maps.
