Ever since the Halo TV Series from Showtime start filming from last year, why there is still no updates from the series especially when it comes to release dates and trailers? Is there a possibility that we are not going to get any news or updates from the Halo live action TV Series until the start of 2021?
I’d imagine COVID has caused a significant interruption. Infinite, which I assume would be the most important thing on 343’s agenda, has been delayed to 2021 because of COVID. Wouldn’t surprise me if the TV show has suffered the same fate.

I have another question. And, I am very curious to hear from you. If the Halo TV Series is getting delayed, do you see the series getting a possible 2022 release date? And, will you be okay with the entire cast and crew from the Halo TV Series finish filming the remaining episodes in 2021?

At this point, I really have lost interest almost entirely in the TV show. I mean it got announced a long time ago, and there’s been quite literally nothing mentioned about it for most of the year at this point. Whatever hype was left has been whittled down day-by-day for me.
And that’s not even considering the lore issues. I’m a lore nerd at heart, so when I heard there were pretty major changes coming to the lore, like Miranda somehow being a doctor and a human raised by the Covenant, I lost even more interest. Lore changes aren’t a deal breaker. But add those issues to the fact that we’ve gotten no information, and I kinda just take on the position of “You know what? I really just don’t care about this anymore.”
The final issue I have with the TV series is that it’s gonna be released on Showtime. I already have Netflix, Amazon Prime, and the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ packages… I’m not buying a Showtime subscription just so I can watch one TV show that already doesn’t sound all that appetizing. When “The Witcher” released on Netflix and did well, I became hopeful 343 might be able to strike a deal with Netflix to have another TV show about a game on their platform. Alas, that’s clearly not happening.
Honestly? I totally forgot about the TV show, lol.
I just don’t think about it. Until it arrives, I won’t hold my breath that it’s actually happening. Too much can go wrong and cancel the whole thing, so I’ll just carry on like it doesn’t exist for now until something more concrete arrives.

Yeah, I mean honestly? We’ll see.
The current state of Halo IMO doesn’t NEED the TV series - just the updates with the MCC are good enough to keep me entertained. Just a bonus that Infinite is impending.
Possibly in Television purgatory since it’s been 7 years.
I had honestly forgotten about the tv show. I lost interest when they started revealing some of the plot points, such as the human raised by covenant.
I think it’s pretty safe to say covid has slowed down filming. They probably also wanted most of the hype to be about halo Infinite so I imagine we will hear more about the show after that releases
After the info I discovered about the TV show, I really have no interest with the show. After the odd character casting, massive changes to the lore and… Humans that have some representation for the Covenant in sympathy. This show does not care about any source material of the games, books, other media to the point I do not care. This amount of change might as well not be called ‘HALO’.
To be honest I lost interest when I heard it’s not canon, I’ll watch it though. We’ll see if it ever comes out lol
So many people say they’ve lost interest because they heard a human was raised by Covenant, but I enjoy nuance. Are we really supposed to look at the entire universe as black and white? Is there no possibility, that among billions of creatures in the universe across all species, there’s no room for deviation from the “all Covenant follow these exact principles with no deviation”? I find the desire for Human vs. Covenant remaining black and white with no grey area both incredibly naïve and boring. That’s assuming, by the way, that this rumour is even true.

Some Halo stories have a bit of grey. The Arbiter is the perfect example.
The problem with it is that the Covenant are religiously stubborn and Halo 2 made that very clear with the Prophets belief/lie not to be doubted. Since Humanity fought back and has a mysterious Forunner history, the Covenant saw them as an undeniable threat, believing that Humanity are vermin and are too dangerous to be left to their devices.
The show completely ignores that the Covenant are a religion that crusades for the ‘Great Journey’ under the orders of Liars and Fanatics. Having Humans defending the Covenant after billions of lives lost, regardless of a backstory is hard to get interested when the War is very black/white. Seeing a human character trying to rationalize the actions of monsters blindly seeking extinction is contrived and annoying.
I’d love to hear some news soon.
