Have you ever spawned in a 6e req and bring a legendary boss down to 2% health, then get killed, and the enemy team finishes the boss off and gets the credit? It’s happened to me too many times to count and I’m sick and tired of it. You can do 99% of the damage to a bosses health, but if you’re not the one to shoot the last shot… You get zero credit. It should be based on which ever team does more damage to the boss, not which team gets the last shot in. 343i has to fix this because it’s breaking Warzone.

Hide health bars instead. The only thing percentage based scoring does is give no incentive to one team to kill a boss if they haven’t done 50%+ damage on it as it’d reward the other team.
Also, play smarter, not harder.
I think the game does sometimes award you the kill if you do a shed load of damage. I’ve been given a few after I’ve died or run out of ammo, but it seems almost entirely random.
It is working as intended and this was confirmed by 343I.
You can also steal boss kills, use strategy and stop QQing about it.
Your proposed idea would break WZ worse.
Team 1 does 51% damage, let the enemy kill the boss, Team 1 still gains the points because they “did more damage”
Brilliant

And by smart he means cover every single part of the map from 12 players who might take a pot shot and steal an entire teams kill.

You could also make it so the percentage determines how much points you get. So team 1 does 51%, so they get that percentage of the points, while team 2 gets 49% of all the total points. There could also be a bonus to the team who actually killed the boss, like the last 50 points.
Maybe the bosses should have two health bars. One for each team. Team that kills them faster wins.
Everyone has their pet ideas for how to improve it. I like the idea of prorating the first 100 points based on damage dealt and giving the final 50 points for the final shot. It still encourages keeping enemies off the boss at the end while making the first 99% of damage mean something as well.
Some folks will say it’s fine and you should control the map, which doesn’t make sense because every legendary boss could be reached safely from either armory.

Or learn to strategize?
You can use a DMR from far away, you can have people push for the Boss while others push to harass the enemy players that are close by so they can’t get shots in.
You have the same chance at stealing the kill, I see no issue with the current system.
Again if we base it on percentage, once a team has the most damage done then it would mean the other team wouldn’t even bother as they know they wont get the full points.
With the current system games can be tied and turned around which makes for more intense matches, especially when both teams are evenly matched.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. With that said stop being the first one to shoot on the boss and focus on wiping out the enemy that is shooting the boss! As for me, after wasting 3 splaser on a boss just so that the enemy team can steal my kill I changed my tactics and focused on screwing the opposing team over

Kill-steal is a very real element. It, in fact is the only thing that allows for a team that is superbly getting crushed to come back or stay in the game. It allows a less shall we say, functioning team, to get the last shot in and have a chance to come back in the game. If it was purely based on damage, the team that is getting rolled will never get a chance to come back. Also pretty much irl or in any situation if you get the kill shot, THAT is the shot that counts. Not any of the shots before that. If your team isn’t good enough to figure out how to defend your boss takedown while grinding him down at the same time then that is a you problem not a 343 problem.
I’d say hide the health bar. I can’t count how many times my entire team has shot a boss with tanks, gausst, rockets, lasers, EVERYTHING, and just have dude one shot it across the map. If you hide the bar no one would know and would encourage everyone to actually work for that kill
There have been some good ideas thrown around but really, don´t you love it when it´s you stealing the kill? It pisses you off when it gets stolen from your team but doesn´t it feel great to take down a legendary with small effort when the other team just spent REQ after REQ, not to mention they left their bases unprotected and all that.
So yeah, it´s a bit of a gamble but you can also keep players away if you just kill them and then focus on the boss.
From the suggested ideas, two seperate health bars wouldn´t be such a bad idea I think, same with the point distribuition. But it doesn´t mean its broken, at least to me.
There’s nothing stopping you from doing the exact same thing. Its part of what makes warzone fun.
Honest to God, my scorpion got destroyed before warden and I still got the takedown.
The issue isn’t the bosses its the team aspect.
When you don’t have a team working as a team kills are stolen and games are lost.
the lack of communication is a problem in Warzone.
Points should be awarded while shooting the boss. So taking down his health by 1/150 will give the team 1 point. And so on

If you shot at it before your teammates got the takedown you’ll still get a medal. That’s why many people can have boss takedowns after the first boss.
That topic again…
It works like it is suppose to. Stop trying to change how it already work because it won’t.

^^^^^^
Sure a steal can still happen when communicating against 12 randoms, but it is less likely to happen
While not perfect it is fine as is.
