Well most of the maps are Sniper firendly even Haven and Abandon but when i play with the UNSC Sniper i have a difficulty to get a perfect shot and kill moving targets but i don’t know why but the Beam Rifle and the Binary Rifle dosen’t have the same issues with me i can get pretty good shots with these 2 weapons even in close ranges could anyone help?
All I can say is practice. And slow down your pace, find a fixed position, and be patient when you shoot. That’s the way of the sniper.
Have you ever played halo 3? compared to halo 3, the halo 4 sniper is easy as hell to get kills with.
Uhm… Don’t use the snipers for close range combat practice by using the UNSC sniper on campaign LASO. That’s all the info i can offer
LOL I’m glad you posted this i have the exact same problem, beam rifle I’m a headshot god, binary and yes I know it’s a 1 shot kill, still most of them are head shots…however sniper is a nightmare so much so I just go for two quick body shots, I was thinking it was the scope sights or the lack of colour I don’t know, but glad I’m not alone ! I wish I knew !

I find it easier to snipe in Halo 3 than 4
I’ve noticed the same phenomenon. It feels like the beam rifle reticle is wider than the UNSC sniper so you actually cover a space wider than their head making it much more friendly for close to mid-range battles. At least with me it’s snap shot (headshot) city when I have the beam rifle and i am by no means a sniper god. Plus when you pace your shots there’s no reloading 
Where as the UNSC requires more accuracy for the head shot, not being as wide.
I’ve been thinking about putting something on my screen to mark where the beam rifle reticle would be and use the UNSC in team snipers and see if it’s just a visual preference.

I’m more comfortable with any other sniper in older games, but for some reason I don’t mesh well with the Hal 4 sniper. Maybe too much aim assist? I never did like the feel of it…
Flinch. I can’t stand Flinch. It’s actually easier to usr than previous titles IMO. Just wish they would implement Unscoping again.

I dunno, I felt Halo 3’s was easier.
But to answer your question OP, the Beam Rifle has more aim assist and magnetism, coupled with an easier to use crosshair.
Not sure about the Binary Rifle.

Funny the DMR seems to be the your weapon of choice as well??..anyways OT. I have a hard time with the sniper mainly because the aim sight is so small and light blue that I loose it half the time haha and on top of that I use Hard Lense contacts but I can’t have them on all the time so when I take them off my vision is a bit blurred so that doesn’t help 
Also the beam rifle is deadly up close that’s why most people have a better time with it.
To play devils advocate…you dont even descope when hit. But to answer your question.
UNSC sniper = faster kills when larger distances due to shot speed.
Beam is a mid to long distance sniper. But is not as fast with shot speed.
Same with Binary except itll wreck your life if your toes hit.

You know, I hadn’t thought of it until I read your post. But yeah, In retrospect, I’m totally a noob. I’m as noob as a noob could be. I’m probably the biggest noob of all. And now, thanks to your insightful post, I’ve realized my crimes of being a noob and of trying to respectfully share my opinions in the waypoint forums, and I will never pollute the halo community again with my presence in matchmaking. Nor will I try to support other players in the forums when I could make condescending remarks and get that false sense of power that makes me feel good. Thanks for watching out for me. I could have continued to make a real fool of myself. Perhaps one day, If i can put my noobish pride aside, I’ll enroll in your classes of how to be a halo pro. But being a noob is just sooo hard to break, And I’ve had soo many years of practice, that I’ll most likely keep on making my foolish mistakes of trying to treat people with respect and help out when I can.
the aim assist on snipers is weird in this game. The beam rifle aims itself, the binary rifle doesn’t have much aim assist, and it doesn’t need any since it is a one shot kill anywhere. But the sniper rifle is special, it has aim assist that seems to help sometimes but actually seems to hurt in other situations. I think the aim assist for the beam rifle needs to be turned down in Halo 5 and the sniper rifle’s needs to be made more normal. Cool to have three sniper rifles though
