I’m talking about the trailers, not parts of what’s in them.
In early 2014, 343i released concept art of a city with Infinity hovering over. This is the city that the trailers are located in. That concept art was for Halo 5, because they wouldn’t have needed it for this trailer. That means that in Halo 5, you will play through the events that happen in the city. The “nuke” will go off, destroying the city, and we will actually know who is at fault. One of the trailers actually happens, while the other is the opposite. This will play directly into Halo 5.
What do you think?
I think the truth is going to be somewhere in the middle
Locke doesn’t strike me as a guy who’d let off a nuke in a populated city. Nor does Chief for that matter. Perhaps Chief tries to disarm it and is framed for setting it up, and Locke believes this and hunts him down for revenge?

That’s what I was thinking. Chief is trying to stop someone from destroying cities, but ONI doesn’t believe him and thinks it IS Chief.
Read my detailed post on this page.
You might find it interesting at least.
The concept art could be somewhere else. Just because the infinity is there doesn’t mean it is in the same city, just saying before you guys go to deep into speculation.

But the same buildings were there too. It’s the same city.
Just because the setting may be in the game, Doesn’t mean we will be playing out what we got in the trailers.
‘Scanned’ was set on Requiem, But we never got captured by the Didact in game.
‘Deliver Hope’ was set on Reach, But we never watched Kat get blown up and then proceed to destroy a covenant ship.
Heck, Halo 3’s Monument Trailer was never in the actual game, And yet was used in Advertisement.
The Trailers we got for Halo 5 may be set in an actual in-game location, But what the characters said and did, May never be in the game. They were designed to give us a small taste of what to expect of the Story, Not to tell us what you will be doing.

Deliver hope was an actual canonical event. It’s how the previous Noble Six was killed. Thom, I think his name was. He died in that explosion.
But, yeah, I agree. Normally the trailers aren’t actual events.

But we didn’t get concept art of the locations, which is what my theory is based off of.
I think ONI most likely set up the explosion, in order to frame the Chief. This would give Locke all the more reason to eliminate him.
