Why the hate on the new update?

Everyone is like “ALL CHANGES SUCK”. Honestly, Most changes are good.

Bad:

No bleedthrough
Removal of Squad Slayer(s)

Good:
BTB Heavies
Super Slayer

Now you’re thinking, how is super slayer good?

Well, Now there is 2 slayer choices, one is TU, 1 is Normal, now we can play what we want, when we want.

BTB heavies is amazing, and fun.

Why remove squad slayer? It brings the community back, more players in each playlist equals faster matchmaking. Plus, you can still play it in customs.

Maps are updated which is always good.

Super Slayer is the same thing as Team Slayer. I liked being able to match parties in Squad.

BTB Heavies is terrible. I played one game on it, and time ran out with about 30 kills left. Too many weapons, and I swear I got killed by Rocket/Fuel Rod Jetpackers for over half my deaths. No need to have literally every vehicle and power weapon on a map at once, and 200 kills is too much.

I’m also a bit miffed that my favorite TU change is gone in every gametype.

There was absolutely no reason to have tampered with Squad Slayer since Super Slayer is a carbon copy of Team Slayer but with TU. Squad Slayer served as the TU gametpye but had much needed variety in its offering, otherwise it is extremely redundant.

Had Squad remained I believe the update would have been better received. Although many people are passionate about bleed through, once it is removed TU-lite can be globally implemented allowing 343 to move forward at a faster pace since there will be nothing holding them back anymore.

They really should have said what these changes would have been BEFORE implementing them, so that all this discussion would allow them to decide what changes to actually carry out.

Instead, they make a bunch of changes (some of them major) and now have to deal with all this backlash.

Also, instead of just taking out bleedthrough all together, they should have tampered with it more, change the damage settings and such to see if they could make it work better. Instead, they gave up immediately, which is a sign of weakness.

This. And because of the fact that they removed Bleedthrough, TU is virtually the same exact thing as Default. Ooooohhhhh, but TU changed the bloom and AL/Camo. Yeah, it did. But the changes are so relatively SMALL that it honestly doesn’t warrant a new playlist next to Slayer. The ONLY reason Super Slayer would even need to be there is if TU kept Bleedthrough. So essentially, 343 screwed up twice with 1 change. That’s ironic, huh?

Because people are whiners and don’t seem to realize that the ENTIRE point of the TU was to fix bloom and armor lock. I hardly ever read threads whining about the melee system until bleedthrough came back and was taken out. Personally it’s fine.

The people on this forum are just close minded and don’t want change, and change that is implemented is automatically bad in their eyes. (despite the fact that they’re wrong) (in my opinion of course)

You sir, either suffer from selective reading issues, or have no idea what you are talking about.

Your broken Vanilla was always there, and my bleedthrogh was wrongfully stolen from me. TU isn’t TU without bleedthrough.

Hater gonna hate, simple as that ^^
Sadly, that is a really good answer. Change is always bad to some, while not enough change might be bad to others, the major fail 343i did according to most, was not to listen enough to [insert your name].
We got to remember, Halo Reach is now just an open beta for Halo 4, or at least the MM and any MM-related processes are. 343i tries out new mechanics as well as new ways to roll out updates, communicating with the community and not, etc. This is to make sure they don’t make any big mistakes when Halo 4 is released and it’s for real, with the new and improved 343i Matchmaking experience.
Bleedthrough and evade for example, if Halo 4 is shipped with these functions on for matchmaking, only to have them removed a few weeks later, I bet everyone will rage. Same goes for all other changes, Reach is the testing area used to make sure Halo 4 can be better in every way.

Be sure to express your opinion and let them know what you think they did good/bad, but no flaming or hating since no one ever cares to read it.

Because it sucks.

Umm they did. There was 3 days between announce of the changes and today when they went out, and youve used that time to register your dissent to its fullest…

Not to mention the update itself was the result of basically months of consultation finishing with the TS vote.

Cmon guys this is really simple stuff, how do you expect to be taken seriously.
