it boils my blood and all the “if its so OP just use it” or “its not that good you need skill to use it” are boring predictable ando not feedback, its infurating that the pistol usurped the role of the BR and DMR and not seeing people complain about it,. and i know exactly why, being with the franchise over the years i rmember the clasic “slayer is boring make slayer BR the defoult” and the such and now that you basicaly have it you dont want it taken away at the games balancing expense, i apreatiate the role tha magnum suposed to be: a reliable pocket gun able to take out targets consistently, but this aint it.
halo 5 has in my opinon (excluding the BR and SMG) an amazing weapon balnce that is just trown out the window by the magnum being what it is, it is puting it simply a scopless DMR and i challenge and will gladly and openly admit to be prouven wrong.
just -Yoinking!- aint the answer, and the solution si very simple: its TOO acurrate, open op the bloom pero shot considerably or just not have it reset like it does, add a bigger maximum bloom and that would probably be it. Halo 5 is a good fun game and would be prob one of the top 5 favs but the magnum just spits in the face of any other weapon you pick up when you try and experiment and have fun, Its TOO GOOD and it brings halo 5 down even more than what it allready is
The magnum does have the fastest TTK of all the loadout precision weapons, but you have to remember, it has the shortest ranges of the precision weapons (excluding the BR). The BR is used for its ability to rapidly spew bullets in a consistent manner, however, the BR is statistically a piece of garbage compared to the pistol. If you read the last patch for halo 5, you will know that they did raise the skill ceiling for many loadout weapons. And while the pistol is better statistically, 4/5 times, a BR will gain the upper-hand, mainly because it is much easier to hit your shots, as you gain bullet magnetism much further out from the centre of the BR than the magnum.
Yeah I do agree with you OP. The magnum in H5 far outshined every other normal weapon. At any distance (besides GREAT distances) your answer was just to use the pistol. It was fast, accurate and able to dish out considerable damage in a incomparable amount of time against any other basic weapon. The only time I’d swap from my pistol was because of using an AR at close range (which at one point was so overpowered at longer distances) or a power weapon.
I really hope that they’re able to make Infinite’s MP enjoyable and not choose to make a single weapon be the only viable option to outgun other people.
Also OP posting this in multiple sections doesn’t help.
It’s silly that the magnum has a better range then the BR. Every piece of logic says that is wrong - heck even the AR should have better range than the magnum.
I wish it was good enough that it was useful, but not bad enough to make the AR useless. Many games that I match with (I am around SR 80) that are regular quick play there are only 1 person at most using the magnum.
The magnum has always been kind of weird in halo, from being a god-like weapon in H:CE to utterly useless in 2. Pathetic in 3. And again too good in 5. To me the reach magnum was the most fun to use but the bloom was a big problem.
