They said “due to the current climate”… so your guess is as good as any ones. They essentially gave in to the over PC world we now live in. It was pretty lame they didn’t relase them IMO.

It’s widely believed that it was because of the Parkland, FL shootings, and the whole gun fiasco resulting from it. It didn’t help that the HCS tournament going on at the time was taking place in Orlando. The part that sucks the most was that the delay came just two days before the first skin was to be released.

And before you ask, they’re not “cancelled,” just “delayed.” My best guess as to a re-release would be during the Seattle finals in April.

> This week we were putting the finishing touches on plans to release a small collection of decorative national flag skins for the UK, Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United States, but in light of the seriousness of the current climate, and with input and feedback from some of our regional partners, we have decided to delay the release indefinitely. Lots of folks worked hard to make the decorative decals, and we know that players were anticipating them in the spirit of fun and competition in which they were originally intended, however, we feel that releasing these items now would be inappropriate. The rest of our HaloWC tournament activity will continue as planned, and we’d like to take this moment to say simply, “be good to each other.”

That makes a lot more sense. Really sucks but i see there reasoning now
