Why the flood is more terrifying

After finishing the campign, I was like: «meh» about the banished as a threatening enemy.
And the endless thing sa also meh.
I have an explanation.
The flood is the most silent enemy in the halo franchise. All that comes from them are sounds, or the gravemind talking.
And the gravemind is chill when he talks, like he has nothing to be afraid of.
The banished and the covenant talks like they are loosing or overconfident.
If the banished was more chill when they talked, and less talking, they would be a more threatening enemy.
Because silence and less talk signals strong confidence.
That is a real enemy.
That’s why I like the flood, because everyone knows how big of a threat they are, and they don’t talk so much.

Edit:
BUT, I really like the design of them and like them for what they are. But I think 343I could make them more epic, if they rewrited Escharums script.
I liked when they introduced the prometheans aswell becuase they didn’t talk either. But they were bulletsponges, so less fun to fight.

Game is rated Teen so we will never get any good flood again.
Not a bad thing tho we’ve had them for 3 games and had unawakening the nightmare

The “Endless” is just Prometheans again. They need to stop trying to one-up the flood by doing yet another “ancient evil” villain. It’s tiring and I don’t care.

Solidly agree. I don’t see why they have to end on a cliffhanger about an enemy we know nothing about when battling for control of the mantle against the banished was already a compelling enough story.
