Why are people so creeped out about Kinect 2.0? First off why in the world would Microsoft spend the money and resources to track your every fart on your couch. I’ve heard the theory that the heartbeat sensor will detect which ads get you excited. Why would Microsoft care if the Doritos Loco Taco gets me more excited than the new dollar menu item at Wendys? Why would they spend all those resources on that? And now that the console is not required to be online the whole time, it literally CAN’T be watching your every move on your couch. Yeah I get it that its creepy and all, but as far as I’m concerned there is not much reason to be besides paranoia.
People are worried about their privacy. Personally, I don’t mind it, but to quell all of the non-believers Microsoft should just allow us to unplug it…
Because I am forced to buy something I don’t want to use. I sold my kinect sensor its -Yoink-
I like my Kinect and I’m pretty excited to see what it can do for controller games. Like giving orders to your squad for example.
I could care less if it watched me. Must be exciting to watch me playing a game and eating chips.
And even if I did care, i could just point it toward the wall.
Because it can smell my fear…
You could always turn the kinect off and regardless its not like our phones, computers and tablets already have cameras or anything.
> Because I am forced to buy something I don’t want to use. I sold my kinect sensor its Yoink!
You’re forced to buy nothing.
You can turn it off.
And even if you couldn’t, and you’re scared about the government watching you the whole time, just turn the Kinect around, and make it face a wall. Not that hard to do.
Just to clear up a few things. Voice commands have existed for a long time…A LOOONG TIME. In my experience it has always been easier to just push a button to order them somewhere than to be like “go here” because half of the time it doesn’t work. It’s gimmicky at best.
I just have paranoia and it makes me a little more…alert than I’d like to be. This can range from panic attacks to borderline violence.
I don’t really fancy smashing my Kinect out of fear. XI
Sounds really stupid, but it happens.
Easiest way to get rid of kinect spying on you. Turn it off, make it face the wall, ducktape every thing about it and cover it with something. I mean, that’s what in doing.

Or you could wear a tinfoil hat. Its much cheaper.
One of these days someone’s gonna have a heart attack and the Kinnect 2.0’s heart rate monitor will have an ambulance called.
You can’t say that your PS4 or Wii U can save your life.
I’d like to see people complain then.
Assuming -Yoink!- have an app for it of course…
That’s possible with the Kinnect right? If not it should.
You could just put a blanket over it or have your cat sleep in front of it or something.

Or you could do a little research and understand why some people don’t like cameras pointed in their faces 24-7. That might help your post look a little more intelligent.

-
microsoft care because all the “farts” as you say are valuable consumer data they can then sell.
-
its not microsofts business what my heart rate is or what i think about anything
3)its not necessary, and there is no reason why I cant be allowed to unplug it
- kinnect 1 was not worth 100$, why would I want kinnect 2? I would rather put that 100$ towards a new controller or a new game.

an xbone without that useless gimmick I and many others dont want would also cheaper
if it is quality it will sell itself

true or you could just disconnect it…
oh wait LOL you cant
cuz that makes sense
All this worry people.
Read this LINK
This should quell most of everyones fears especially the privacy bit.
Its a little out of date because it still talks about connecting to the internet every 24 hours (that news is less than a day old) but still read, learn and stop worrying people.

Thanks for that, interesting read. I laughed a little too much at the top of his post.
