The Falcon as cool as it was in Reach, personally wasn’t very good. In the campaign it worked fine and had a lot bite against infantry, vehicles and aircraft alike, but in multiplayer the Falcon was usually just kinda hovering around, doing nothing because the pilot had no weapons and half the time no one bothered to get in the guns making it easily killed by people on the ground or a Banshee. Yet i’m seeing a lot of people asking for it to make a return over the Hornet a vehicle that personally walked all over the Falcon and could actually perform really well against the new vehicles/ could easily compete against Banshee’s and Phaeton’s in Warzone matches. I just kinda want to know why the Falcon is wanted and it’s potential return is talked about so much more than the Hornet’s.
I would love to use it with a team of 12 in wz and use it to drop people off at certain cap points
The falcon is the warthog of the skies. It takes great teamwork to take advantage of its full power but has the capability to be the most deadly bird in the skies because of its two chain guns and their capability to keep fire focused on a target while the pilot pushes forward at full speed to evade fire.
Of course, if there are no gunners on board it is more useless than a warthog driving solo cause at least the hog can splatter

Promotes teamwork, doesn’t play like the phaeton, and a lot of them are reach kids. Personally I think it would be better because of the first two. I do think they should add a ‘flag seat’ for BTB. They were also fun to hijack and then let the gunners fall to their death, but we wouldn’t be able to do that as easily in h5.
In reach a good falcon pilot and a decent gunner could take down all but the best banshee pilots.

becuase it was a warthog of the skies, plus the phaeton makes the need for the hornet redundant since both VTOL vehicles perform almost identical beside the Phaeton having a dash

Couldn’t of said it better since I typically play with a team falcon is my choice.
I’d enjoy a bigger sandbox at the end of the day. The falcon would be destroyed by a banshee ultra easily (those backflips) and it could match a phaeton, but these aren’t the real enemies of air vehicles. DMR, BR, Rockets, Lasers, etc. would tear through the slow moving Falcon any day. At least there is an evade with the phaeton!
My guess is that players are nostalgic to the falcon and they want to feel tactical. Like I said I’d enjoy the additional vehicles.
Just imagine jumping off the gun and ground pounding!

I’d rather have the Hornet than the Falcon because the Hornet has passenger seats, and no dash. Plus, they could make it so the Hornet isn’t a combat VTOL but rather more like an armed troop transport at a lower REQ level than the Phaeton (for Warzone).
To use the Hornet at it’s best in combat, you need some good shooters hanging on to the sides.

This is so true.
The other day in Noctus, my Banshee got hit by a Wraith mortar while at full shields. “Ok,” I had initially thought seeing as the Banshee WASN’T burning, “I’m not burning, and my shields will be back soon. I can still get a few kills.” Killed in one shot by a DMR. Why are vehicles so weak against small-arms fire now?
Who doesn’t love a good ol’ Falcon flight :D. If it makes a comeback in Halo 5, I hope the pilot has chain-gun to control like in the campaign on Reach…always made my day to hear that sound.
It was not bad with a good team. But I think most people want it back because the Phaeton takes the role of the Hornet while nothing ever took the role of the Falcon since Reach.

Don’t forget the lack of UNSC air vehicles.
The Covenant have always had one in every game, then we finally get an UNSC vehicle in 3, and Reach… then they vanish. Why would the UNSC suddenly lose their Falcon and Hornet? You’d think the Infinity’s War Games Simulation would have Hornets or Falcons.

Well its because people in halo 5 show team work and would get on the guns and would even accept the passenger seat and if your in a fireteam with a bunch of friends wouldn’t you wont to jump in a falcon with one of your friends.
