Why the Didact don't use any weapon ?

Halo Escalation.

Why Didact is fighting and killing with his bare hands ?

It seems so dumb.

Because he doesn’t exactly need one when he is a giant and can Force choke fools.

Um, then what purpose would having him survive falling into a portal serve if he relied on a Light Rifle?

This isn’t Crash Bandicoot: Halo Strikes Back. :U

> Because he doesn’t exactly need one when he is a giant and can Force choke fools.

Well he need. Otherwise would not be having a hard time against Blue Team. Can’t comment more until September 24.

> Um, then what purpose would having him survive falling into a portal serve if he relied on a Light Rifle?

If he would use a weapon probably would be the Binary Rifle like others Warrior-Servants or a new one.

Forerunners are portrayed using weapons in battle but good to know that you guys prefer the Didact using the Force and punches.

You would think that he’d bring an incineration cannon with him. I guess he just likes a more…personal approach to combat. He is a weapon in his own right.

Also, he’s insane.

I find the constraint field use helps signify him more as a commander than just a regular soldier. He organizes fleets and armies, not going running and gunning on a regular basis. The constraint fields also seem generally pretty flexible for the types of fights he gets in. If he was fighting flood or tanks he’d probably whip the guns out, but the fields seem to be able to contend with spartans both individually and in groups pretty well.

Really he’s a more high-tech lord hood.

Because we couldn’t get proper superhero vs. supervillain fisticuffs otherwise. Because that’s something Halo needed.

In all seriousness, it would’ve been great if the Didact had some armor-integrated weapons and defenses; things like field-nets that stop you if you get too close, combat assist microdrones that decouple from the armor, spatial manipulation based defensive/offensive/mobility systems built into the armor itself… we’ve heard so many hints at all sorts of advanced tech the Forerunners have and the possibilities to play with it would’ve been endless. Instead the Didact is just a big hulking brute.

There was a pre-Halo 4 animation demo video where a character was casually pulling Spartans through walls with some sort of slipspace-bending shenanigans. Something like that would’ve been a nice addition to the Didact’s power set.

He is technically a weapon with his sith lord powers and overly-strong armour.

When was he having a hard time against Blue Team? He massacered Black Team without any weapons aside from the abilities built into his armour and he was tossing Blue Team around like rag dolls.

He didn’t really need to take a weapon. He easily took out Black Team without one and then he has his Prometheans as back-up against Blue Team.

Um to answer your question we would be getting into ban materia.l But there is a preview of a certain halo comic issue up and some may be surprised at how it’s playing out.

Because his armor is his weapon.

He’s pretty madly insane. Unpredictable.

Ah yes, I saw that and forgot about it.

Tbf to him, he likely underestimated them.

If he is succeeding, why should he need a weapon when his hands and suit are perfectly capable?
Also, some things are best done…personally.

Something like that would be cool.

Even then, the only reason he started slipping was because Blue Team got split up, and MC distracted him by stabbing him in the eye after catching back up. If they had stayed together, would have gone the way as Black Team most likely. Blue was getting #rekt the entire fight up until the moment we cannot discuss, and even then he’s likely not defeated.

Fisticuffs is also probably better sport. How boring is insta-killing your foes? And really, who wants to be lugging some bulky overkill weapon around anyways? He doesn’t need it.

I’m personally under the impression that there isn’t a Didact-sized weapon left in the galaxy. He certainly couldn’t use any of the standard Spartan arsenal - I don’t think his fingers would be able to fit in the trigger. No, but he does seem a bit foolish running around and using the Force. 343 Industries should’ve created something very special and custom and huge for him. Something no one else could’ve possibly wielded.

Coz this is the same guy that went cray cray after talking to the primordial…

The didacts crazy.

That’s what I thought. He’s not going to die in a comic book, we know that much, that’d be a terrible idea. He won’t be in that much trouble in the grand scheme of things.
