343 are determined to turn us away from this gun, yet we come back time and time again.
-
Slowest kill time of the primaries
-
Is a shiny white, like a toy gun
-
is crippled by random spread, making it useless at range and headshot a matter of luck
-
Is ridiculously easy to use in comparison to the BR’s of yore
-
sounds like it launches farts
Why is it in the game? All it did was make us hopeful at E3, and all it does is make the DMR seem more OP then it really it is.( And it is OP.)
It’s an easier, weaker version of the DMR. And I just don’t get why many cling to it.
I dunno about this BR vs DMR thing. I use the Carbine, and I’m happy with it.
Because many people believe it is the trademark gun for the Halo franchise (although in my opinion, that should be the AR…).
The Light Rifle is my new favorite if you ask me but the BR will always be better than the DMR and Carbine in my opinion.
I like using the BR the most out of all the loadout guns. It’s just the most fun to play with to me. You can’t get cheap kills with it like the DMR.
It is definitely more skillful than the DMR.
Personally, I started with the DMR and used it for a long time, but switched to BR after a while. It just felt powerful and I fell in love with the bleedthrough. It feels like it suits me best. A lot of players have their own love and opinion for it as well, but I guarantee a good amount use it only so they won’t be called n00bs cause they like the DMR.
I use nothing but the suppressor.

…what the hell!?

Props. That thing is amazing, and pretty tricky.

Could you explain a bit more? I mean, was that sarcasm or surprise, or something far more sinister?
Doesn’t the Carbine have the slowest kill time of the primaries? I could be wrong.
I don’t think 343 is trying to turn us away from the BR though, I think they are just hesitant to nerf the DMR for whatever reason, unless they are planning on nerfing it and it just takes more time to do these things than a lot of us think.
The dmr is the easiest gun in the game to use outside of the incineration cannon. If anything people should be getting messages about being noobs for using the dmr. I rarely have to zoom in on small maps when using it. The br on the other hand has to be zoomed if you want most of the burst to hit across haven.
Believe it or not,the carbine kills you slightly slower then the DMR.( if your god)
I just use the BR to prove the point you don’t need an OP gun like the DMR to do well. So many sub-par bad and even ok players are afraid to use anything else. Notice how many players swarmed to using the boltshot and since the nerf they won’t touch it anymore? It’s no longer their cheap free kill gun so they see no point in using an underpowered or heaven forbid BALANCED gun. I mostly use BR and Carbine and I crap on most DMR players I face even at long ranges. I can make the BR work in long range even when it’s not as good and still kill some silly DMR player. I don’t think I even have close to 1k kills total with a DMR but I sure got plenty of BR kills.
I just like using weaker weapons like that and Carbine for the challenge. Plus the fact it’s one more thing I can use to humiliate my enemies with.
In Halo reach I’d be the only player almost all match on maps like powerhouse and Zealot to pick up the plasma repeater … I tore up unsuspecting players with that thing so much and everyone passed it as a crappy gun to use. In Halo 3 I’d dual wield the SMG and Plasma Rifle in RANKED team slayer games (lvl 50 high) and take out some sorry sap who thought I was going to be using a BR against them or something lol. I make guns like that work =)
I use the Carbine and AR! Love the two weapons
I never was a big fan of the BR, but it’s still lots of fun to use

Lol yeah taking out DMR scrubs with other gun is priceless. It’s funny- most people who use the DMR aren’t even vy good and get crapped on by people that aren’t on crutches.
Because some people played Halo 2 and on, and did not come to Halo during the trash that is Reach and Reach 2 aka Halo 4.
Anyone who played Halo 2 and Halo on from at least then loves the BR and wants it back the way things were in 2 and 3.
Nostalgia and supposedly the most competitive weapon. “DMR hinders map movement”, which is a stupid statement used by super competitive types. All precision weapons hinder map movement in a 4v4 game type 0.o
I only use the DMR on the largest maps, because the BR has little to no damage from long distances. to be honest, i think it takes more skill to use the BR, that and I dislike bloom.
I also use the Light Rifle on occasion, very underrated gun IMO

Not true at all. I played from Halo: CE all the way to Halo 4 and have been devoted to the series for quite a good portion of my life (some people might say sad, I know). Things like dual-wielding that some people wanted back, I was extremely opposed to that idea because it broke balance as well (noob combos). The BR is an okay gun, it wasn’t my favorite (AR takes the cake)…I didn’t like it nearly as much as some of the other people did. Don’t assume the “true” Halo fans are all in love with the BR… everyone is born with different mindsets, nobody is more right or wrong than the other when it comes down to personal opinions.
