If the AR is that easy as you claimed, it would be everyone’s top ToD and are more willing to go for AR starts on slayer matches.

That is firing full auto. Any idiot can remove their finger from the trigger every 3 shots. As long as you don’t reach max bloom your shots will hit.
Your right. The AR will never be good. However all of your reasons as to why are wrong.
The AR is supposed to be the weak, low-tier weapon. It is the starter weapon in the game as it makes players have to try to upgrade to the superior precision and power weapons. The weapon is not meant to kill at longer ranges;only close-medium range. It also takes out the possibility of players getting a headshot, making you highly ineffective in combat.
The automatic weapons are much more forgiving than precision. they also give you the physch advantage by keeping a constant barrage on your opponent, possibly freaking them out. And in close range, they will dominate precision weapons most of the time. However they were not designed to be the best weapons in the game. They were designed as low level starters that make the player search more for better weapons.

that’s 2 clips.
DMR would wipe you off the map before you got half of the first out.

Yeah, check how many bullets hit, what is it, 4-5? DMR takes 5 for body shots, right?
More than enough time to kill him.
I don’t like when people say “The AR is for CoD players with no skill”. Not true. The AR is the first gun I’ve ever used in a video-game before even knowing about CoD and before the first Call of Duty game was even out.
The AR does take skill. You need to know when to use it. For example, it’s very effective at finishing off an opponent with their shields down. The AR takes skill to use because most of the players use other weapons such as the DMR against the AR, and the DMR is a lot stronger than the AR usually. The average player is good enough to win a fight against an AR user with a couple of clean, headshots. A lot of the time, in order to win fights with the AR, you will need to have enough time to kill the enemy before he kills you in order to spray enough bullets into your opponent, or be in close range for optimal damage. To me, this encourages a stealthy style of gameplay.
> > 2 clips, did you count? Two clips, TWO CLIPS.

> Because he totally didn’t let the shields recharge or anything and only used 20 bullets to get the kill.
lol, 20.
DMR kill is 1/4th of that. with a 15 clip.
3 kills, 5 shots each. not even counting Headshots, which is 3, meaning for every 6 shots you’re putting in with the AR he’s getting 1. (which is odd because they use the same caliber.)
> The AR is supposed to be the weak, low-tier weapon. It is the starter weapon in the game as it makes players have to try to upgrade to the superior precision and power weapons.
Which designer claimed this?
> And in close range, they will dominate precision weapons most of the time.
Between two equally skilled players at close range, they should dominate all of the time. Instead the DMR can beat the AR at CQC range. No weapon should require your opponent to fail to score a kill.
> However they were not designed to be the best weapons in the game. They were designed as low level starters that make the player search more for better weapons.
Didn’t I have numerous people telling me all through Reach’s development and post launch that starting players off with low level starters just makes for spawn traps that become spawn camps since the players are unable to fight out of said spawn traps with low level starters?

Incorrect. 5 shots if the last is a headshot. It is 8 body shots. The Assault Rifle also fires much faster than the DMR.
Assult rifle all day >:0 ill do with the best of wat i got n still defy that “AR sucks becus of dis” love it no matter wat n will be da best ^^ n pardon my rush poor grammar everyone o.o
Why do people keep saying this like the assault rifle will not be good , or that it sucks, or that it’s for fine gentlemen.
It does not suck in halo 4. It was one f my favourite weapon surpassing the DMR and the battle rifle. It is very good at getting kills and is quite accurate. I’m really good with it In halo 4.

Still proves my point that it isn’t the “Easy” gun. Nor is it the casual gun. It shows that when you use it wrong, even with this “handicap”, you do NOT get a kill.
The DMR can still mess up, and still get a kill. 2 maximum if given time.

PAX or E3 build? I’m more worried about the recent build since I haven’t seen jack-squat of the AR being used for more than 2 seconds.
When I get games in Reach that are AR primary Magnum secondary I NEVER use the AR. It’s not like I’m some great player but if anyone is good enough to pull headshots with a precision weapon their really should never be a good time to use AR.
E3, I haven’t heard of the automatic weapons getting nerfed. The thing is, you have to keep the reticle on the guy, missing shots will make you kill him slower. You have to not miss every time. It was a bit hard for me as I had sensitivity 10, and that is really high, but I pulled it off. I was in close quarters usually with hard light shield or thruster pack. Sometimes I would thruster pack to throw off my enemy’s aim and such. When facing a hard light shielded opponent, my engagement distance allowed me to dispatch him quickly.

It’s good to hear about that. I’m glad to hear that at least 343 is taking the necessary steps to make the gun actually be worth using and is making changes for the best.
I’d still wish there was actual footage from the PAX build though.
OP, you are right. For the most part. There will be a few small maps that are close-quarters and elite players will have an AR loadout for these maps alone.
You heard it here first. That is, of course, unless you do not have common sense. If you do have common sense you already know what I just said to be truth.
