Why tell us bout Precursors & not have them?

Now, I haven’t played the Campaign I’m just guessing this off from what I’ve seen. The last 2 Forerunner Saga novels really seemed to hint that the Precursors would return and deem us unworthy. Why did 343 hint at their involvement if we are just going to fight something else? I’m not angry at all, I’m just surprised about this. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe they show up towards or at the end. What do you think?

they could still come in.
my guess, precursors have corrupted those defense AIs or something. They corrupted Mendicant Bias with The Prisoner, and other AIs have been turned by Graveminds.
Highly possible still.

Maybe the Precursors are controlling Didact, who’s controlling Requiem’s defenses?

the Ancient Enemy does seem more likely to be a Forerunner (since the symbol is from a Forerunner. and no! it’s not the Didact! different symbols. different people)

it does seem weird that the books seem to hint Precursors sooo much, then have it to be somebody else. however, the Master Builder seems more likely (AI enemies. can create AI allies. is evil. why not him? everything seems to point at him)

unless you are talking about the fact that it goes upside down. Then I guess we will be facing the Tcadid. The Didact’s evil twin brother.

Problem: Forerunner aren’t evil. And the Promethean AI we see on Requiem are only there for defensive purposes, if they really out to threaten the entire galaxy they would’ve done it during the few thousand years they have been sitting there idle.

There are things about Halo, even the most devout do not understand.

I am sure everything is not as it seems.

It all makes sense, no wonder he was asleep. Sibling rivalry.

Im still trying to figure out the reasoning behind this. The Didact was strongly opposed to the Halos, so much so that he proposes his own “Shield Worlds” and is exiled for it.
Why would he attack humans for destroying a weapon he didn’t approve of in the first place? And is it for sure confirmed that is the Didact’s symbol(maybe I should run through H3 again)?
Maybe the turning upside down shows that Didact has been turned, corrupted, or some other manner of great evil.

Why announce a trilogy and throw the biggest thing you got at the community in the first game?

Maybe he just doesn’t like seeing humans on his Shield World.

Well at the end of Primordium…

the Primordial/Timeless One/Captive claims that the Flood are the Precursors, or at least that they are closely related. So in that case we’ve already fought the Precursors without knowing it…Then again we’ll just have to see.

and did you look at the Ancient Enemy’s symbol recently. I just did to see (again) if maybe I was wrong. And (again) I wasn’t. Compare them:

Didact: Hexagon with a circle in the middle and two dashes sticking out (not touching the outer circle) with a space below it then a dash

Ancient Enemy: Hexagon completly full and two dashes sticking out and touching the outer circle with a smaller space below it then a dash

and don’t tell me, well that’s an older pic of the Didact so they changed it a bit, because in CEA, it’s the same exact shape.

ONCE AGAIN: DIFFERENT SYMBOLS. DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

The enemies in the demo were not actual forerunner. They are defense AIs, or robots, programmed to destroy.

Chances are, the Infinity crashed into, or nearby something important, and that giant ball wants it removed, and this is its choice of exterminating the crew of the Infinity, the Covenant, and John.

it is the Didact. If you look at his symbol and the symbol at the end of the Halo 4 demo, you see his symbol as we know it before it flips upside down

“The new enemy reveal, it’s finished. No, I think we’re just getting started.” But really, based on hints dropped in the books/ Anniversary terminals, there is plemty of possibilities for potential enemies, allies locals etc. don’t give up hope just yet.

I personally hope we get to see precursors in halo 4 and wouldn’t mind at least some flood but if memory serves I believe frankie confirmed we’re not gonna fight the flood in halo 4, that makes me kinda sad panda :frowning: would also be somewhat cool to see some living forerunners and maybe even living promotheans(spelling?)

> Why announce a trilogy and throw the biggest thing you got at the community in the first game?

what makes you think that what ever is in halo 4 will be the biggest thing in the whole trilogy?

the didact symbol is a hexagon two dashes one coming from each side of the heaxgon and a dash underneath it, thats the didacts symbol, and its the same in halo cea terminal

this is the didact symbol

halo anniversary terminal the maw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Od9UK0W34IY

and heres it in the halo 3 terminals skip to 3:35
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js-ufq2tMgo

the description you gave to the ancients evils symbols is the didcts, and from the description you gave the didct sounds like the librarians symbol although thats does not have a dash underneath but it does have two dashes that is separated from the main body of the symbol

you can also see it in that halo 3 terminal video as its the didact and the librarian talking to each other. it dosnt matter if circle in the middle of the symbol in the halo 4 trailer is full or not its the didacts symbol before it turns upside down.
