So we have all been there, you pull off a glorious assassination, but then you’re cut short by an inconsiderate teammate who cares only for himself. I was playing Spartan Ops lobby the other day and pulled off an assassination on a knight, which are really cool assassinations, only to have it purposely robbed from me. Luckily he didn’t last for long, hit my a binary rifle. Serves him right.
This was also a problem in Reach, and before I go on, I will say that I was an offender. I stole people assassinations. Not just once, or twice for that matter. Every time I saw an assassination I made it my goal to steal it like my life depended on it, and now I see it isn’t right. Some claim that its not “mlg” which is a dumb thing to steal an assassination for. Do you really expect every one to be mlg? It’s a game, assassinations are supposed to add that extra level of cool when your fellow teammate tackles an enemy to the ground and finishes him off. Plus, people won’t be able to rank up the commendation and get the beloved armor that comes with it.
DONT STEAL 'EM
It’s no fun, and you’re being a jerk by doing it. Now, like I said I was one of these guys. Trust me people don’t appreciate it, they will melee you as a sign that they don’t. So please, let everyone have fun. Don’t steal them.
I feel maybe thats why they lowered the amount of assassinations you had to get to be a master? and its so easy to cap the commadation on slayer pro. I would only be mad if I was assassinating the king and someone stole it or I was assassinating with the oddball lol
I agree. Why can’t it be like Battlefield 3? You can still get killed but your prey can not. I’ve felt so…strangely depressed when I save someones life by assassinating the guy shooting them when they’re not looking just so they can run and take away my kill
And yes they’re MY kills. I put my name on them with my knife quickly before I take their life.
It’d be fine if it wasn’t for people who do this on purpose just to get a free kill. Sometimes a yoink is funny: One match, I was in a party with my bros and one was about to end the match on an assassination, and I dropped a rocket on them. We all had a good laugh about it but there it was.
People like RELYTNING are the reason I miss regular betrayals.
At point B, enemy comes in almost starts to capture the base, I start to assassinate him, teammate comes and blows up both me and the guy being assassinated. So he felt the need to betray me just get the kill.
We lost base B after that, then shortly after lost the game.
At least they took out the Yoink medal, so there’s less reason to do it now. Oddly enough, I don’t get Yoinked much. I usually get the assassination, but then I get killed. I guess I’m just good at assassinating people? (I do only have about 40 more until I’ve Mastered them.)
I don’t understand why they allow people to steal them. Once you hit someone in the back in older Halo games, they’re dead. Same if you just tap the button. So why would they allow someone to ruin a kill you’ve already essentially earned? You should be able to die but your catch should not.
> If I get someone one or two shots from death and some yoink on my team starts assassinating I’m getting my yoink medal. Otherwise I don’t yoink people, it’s rude.
Exactly, sick of people hiding during the combat rather than helping, then they pop out at the last minute to get an assassination. I’m just supposed to stop shooting the guy who’s shields I just dropped so your greedy -Yoink- can get the assassination? Nope, yoink you.
People go on about this all the time,
but what about the other way around, If i’m shooting at a guy, took his shields off, then you start an assassination on that same guy i spent time taking out, I’m going to finish him off regardless. I’m not gonna let you show boat on a guy i’ve spent time taking out so you can show boat.
However, if some one’s assassinating some other guy ive not spent/done all the work on, then i leave him too it.
