This Video goes a little over why sprint doesn’t work. He could’ve gone more in depth but you get the point. This is why sprint shouldn’t be in Halo 4 also.
“Bloom” is really the only thing that Ruins Sprint.
The very fact that Sprint leads to higher kill times (I.E slower gameplay) should be reason enough to not bring it back.
Video is loading, this should be interesting.
Update: Eh, light on the details but he got his point across. lol spam kills.
Sprint changes the whole way action circulates on a map. In past halo games, where everyone travelled at the same speed, action was spread out, and it was navigation which got you from place to place. Reach is a different dynamic, where you are means little, what really matters is whether or not at that moment you can sprint. This all means lots of people can end up in the same place very fast. It changes the game a lot, and I’m honestly not sure whether it should stay or not. I’m usually the keep it as an option kinda guy, but I just can’t make up my mind on this one.
Pro, haha…
I hate it when people use that word.

Well the guy in the video is one of the best Halo players in the world so I would consider this an appropriate time to use the word pro.
Fine, He’s a proffessional competetive Halo player that has won many tournaments including the 2008 MLG national championships who has been playing and competing in Halo since Halo 1. That better?
Sprint is game-breaking (not on the level of jetpack or armor lock, but still quite infuriating). I’d hate to see it return, although I have a feeling it may.

Actually that’s much better.

what you just said can be abbreviated to one phrase…
pro.
yes i went there.
So his problem with sprint is that it allows players to get out of trouble and get into the fight quickly… Isn’t that just stating the obvious? That is the purpose of sprint.

Assuming what you’re saying is true on what he said it’s quite pathetic. Then again most of the pseudo-competitive people of the console era don’t understand the fine art of balance.
Just watched it and we’re both right. This is why the balancing and the mechanics of games should be left to the developers, and not the community, nor the “pro” community.
He assumes because he has map control with his team that people shouldn’t be able to get out of their base easily. Why not? You’re the biggest factor in that sense, not the sprint. If you had a better position, instead of being on the right side of their map when they spawn upper left then why not? Unless you’re aiming directly where they’re running I see no reason on why they should have gotten away. It’s this kind of pathetic viewpoint from a “pro” community that I fear Halo 4 will be turned into.
I don’t care if the person is pro, sprint still works. I’ve been using it since beta Reach till present. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it, and people are just coming up with the weakest of excuses. People say no cuz it slows down gameplay, then the next person will say it makes it fast so no. Nothing but sheer opinions, but nothing wrong with that right? Thing is, none of the excuses of which I’ve heard are at least logical.
Sprint default ftw, I’m tired of sprint haters.

Having Sprint slows down the default movement speed.
It also lowers your gun putting you at a disadvantage when you meet an opponent while sprinting.
Sprint helps people pummel.
Fact.

You don’t use sprint to run at people, you use it to run in the opposite direction.
So what if it lowers your gun? Isn’t there a con to all the AAs? I believe sprint is the best AA tbh. Imo, sprint would be so freaking powerful if it didn’t lower your gun. I use sprint to catch up to my opponents, to charge in for a beat down, to surprise opponent and flee from them. It’s all about how and when you use sprint.
I get to my battles quicker than before, fact. I walk all the time and kill people, not a prob. Walk speed isn’t terribly slow. You have the ability to be even faster than any other walk speed known in any halo mm. Sprint is a nice mediator in the gameplay of Reach. It is a game changer in objective games (get to objective or vehicle quicker and score is seconds). When someone else is running or walking away, they are defenseless as well, problem? Assassinations are much quicker and easier, etc man come on what else you have in your haterade?

pro player? -Yoink- MLG. MLG is what -Yoinking!- ruined halo. Halo CE was the -Yoink- when it came to multiplayer. Everything after is crap.

So LAN was better than Xboxlive? Wise thinking there.

xbconnect -Yoink!-. Played Halo online before most people on here.

> Well the guy in the video gets paid real money to play Halo which for all intents and purposes makes him an actual Pro(fessional).
Fixed that for you.
