Why some people are leaving/left halo 5

That’s not how it works. Roland Emmerich’s 1998 “Godzilla” movie hat the eponymous title as well as the official license from Toho, yet it’s still not a Godzilla movie. I’m not saying this as a fanboy, it was literally confirmed that the monster in it is not Godzilla because they changed it too much. The character was then (re)branded “Zilla” for his cameo in the movie “Godzilla: Final Wars” as producer Tomiyama and director Kitamura felt he was not worthy of the name “Godzilla”, lacking its spirit. Slapping a brand name on the cover of a cheap ripoff, that is unfaithful to its source material does not magically transform it into said brand. Or, to be more blunt: “Take a bucket of piss and call it Granny’s Peach Tea; You won’t fool a fly or me. I’m not gonna drink it.”

Yes it is. The rest of your post is irrelevant. 343 make Halo now, if you don’t like that then you’ll just have to find a way to live with it.

No it’s not. The rest of your post is irrelevant.

You wanna play the “Yes it is”-“No it’s not”-game? Fine by me. Let me know when you’re ready to have a conversation.

EDIT: By the way, I did find a way to live with it. It’s called “customer feedback” and “not supporting ripoffs”.

I’m not ready to have a conversation with you, I was just correcting the errors in your post. I don’t care at all about your opinion, if you don’t like Halo 5 then why are you even on the Halo 5 forum? I will never understand people that hang around forums of games they don’t like… smh.

There was no error in my post.

Then why are you in a discussion forum?

As I’ve already said, to give feedback.

I like Halo. I just don’t like whatever the hell “Guardians” is…

The req system most certainly is NOT great. First of all, you have no control over what weapons you get. Second, within an hour time span (I only play for an hour) I barely scrounge up enough points to afford a silver req. So I can grind forever to make enough points to get a higher req and still get -Yoink- weapons. This is why I stopped playing multiplayer.

Second, that whole “play something else” argument is -Yoink-. I don’t want to play something else. I want to play Halo and H5 just doesn’t feel like Halo at all. We want a return to the feeling of the old days and less competitive, more casual play. It’s a video game for crying out loud, not a major league sport.

Which is funny. Back in Halo Reach, MLG dropped the Halo series (and buried it with Halo 4), and people were begging for it to return to the days of actual competitiveness and ranks.

“Casual play” dominated Halo Reach and Halo 4, which is one reason why the population was declining.

If you enjoy playing Halo, then the REQs come naturally. But if you don’t like Halo 5 then it doesn’t really affect you does it?

The “play something else” argument is very valid. If you don’t enjoy Halo 5 don’t play it, a game is supposed to be fun.

As for less competitive… haven’t you played the old Halos? They were all competitive. What people like you don’t seem to be able to grasp is that for every easy game you have, someone else has a hard game. For every kill you get, someone else dies. Halo will always be competitive because people want to win.

Second, within an hour time span (I only play for an hour) I barely scrounge up enough points to afford a silver req. So I can grind forever to make enough points to get a higher req and still get -Yoink- weapons. This is why I stopped playing multiplayer.
> >

We want a return to the feeling of the old days and less competitive, more casual play. It’s a video game for crying out loud, not a major league sport.

I have never once, nor will I ever, complain about Halo Reach or Halo 4. I loved both of those at launch and miss the gameplay of them.

What people like you don’t seem to be able to grasp is that for every easy game you have, someone else has a hard game. For every kill you get, someone else dies. Halo will always be competitive because people want to win.

Yes, but they are catering to this stupid new Esports crap. Video games are NOT a major league sport and they never will be. Major League sports are things where people get outside and actually play the sport. Baseball, Football, Soccer, etc.

The REQ system is not great. Why the hell should i have to keep earning a bunch of crappy cosmetics just to get the one I want. Having to potentially play over 700 hours just to get the ONE cosmetic I want is not fun. It’s incredibly tedious, and even if I did spend money on REQ packs instead, I might have to pay over $1000 to get the cosmetic I want.

I might enjoy playing Halo, but I don’t want to have to devote so much of my time to it just for cosmetics.

Also I have already explained how Halo 5 is different to 2 and 3 in regards to the changes it made. But clearly you don’t seem to understand because you’re just spewing out the same ‘Halo needs to evolve if you don’t like it deal with it’ argument which I’ve heard about 1000 times on these forums by now. That’s not an argument, it’s just a way of trying to justify all the crappy changes made to Halo.

This is solely in response to the thread title, not what seems to be the ensuing argument…

To, “Why some people are leaving/left Halo”

I have more or less left Halo, but I do not look back on it negatively.
This is not a point of debate over who is right or wrong, but my opinion(which I feel is right), but I thoroughly enjoyed Halo 5. I enjoyed the campaign, despite delivering something contrary to what I initially expected.
And I enjoyed the range of multiplayer experiences, even with the various hurdles that had.

More recently, being in Australia, the multiplayer experience has been hugely limited in what I can play with decent connection, and I have fibre internet. Apparently, this is a population-related issue.
But that has made WZFF the only really playable MP, which gets boring after a while. If I could connect with warzone or arena games without issue then I would not be getting bored with it so soon.

So I have “left” Halo 5.
That’s not to say I won’t come back every so often to play my favourite campaign missions.

Now I’m going to go stab Dodo’s on Ark Survival Evolved, because why the hell not!

Yeah in Halo reach and Halo 3 people cared more about cosmetics. Being able to actually buy and earn cosmetics make people want to play more. Halo 5 does this terribly by putting in a system that does not reward anyone for completing achievements or beating opponents on the battlefield. instead it creates a blanket reward system that is designed around randomness. Think about getting recon in halo 3. It isn’t about the armor. it’s about what it took to get the armor

Halo will always be competitive because people want to win.

Yes, I’m sure that you know what’s going to happen for the rest of eternity. I think we’re done here.

You didn’t even read my post properly. I never said i hated the game, in fact i specifically said ‘I might enjoy playing Halo’. My argument is that working for specific unlocks in previous games was a much better system then simply grinding and grinding until you happen to get what you want. And i do enjoy playing Halo 5, but not enough to play as much as I played the old games. And not enough to play for 700 -Yoinking!- hours.

If you haven’t seen that proof then someone should link it. It’s by latenightgaming. He interviewed ex 343 employees. Idk. Lost my train of thought by now. I do agree with you on your points however. Did he mention the name of the employee or was it a video interview with the person? Something tells me neither of those is the case.

While I agree with a few of your points, you assume that because you don’t like something that is why people are leaving Halo (And that they are leaving) without A: Providing evidence it’s happening. B: Providing evidence to support that claim. C: Assuming that people are leaving H5 you fail to investigate any additional reasons this may be the case. Again this is like coming downstairs and finding a plate of French Toast on your dining room table and assuming that a Giant Rainbow-Mane Unicorn that sneezes glitter broke into your house and made them for you.

The evidence is there my friend. And it does take much to see it… If you have been truly following Halo along the way then it is very clear. Now do you know how I can get a hold of this unicorn? Because I do like French toast! lol.

There is no evidence presented of a mass exodus from Halo 5, even if there was there is no possible reason to determine why that exodus was occurring. The time to belief something is when there is evidence to support it, not before hand.

I wouldnt go so far as to say its a mass exodus. But there are clear signs. The signs were here very early on when the game was first out… The start is when there is no population counter. Second sign is when region lock was taken off. Third sign is when the preference options were put out. Fourth sign is why they don’t give the option of server selection. Which btw any game that runs on dedicated servers has this. These are some very clear signs and is valuable evidence. You have to look at it as a whole and prior track records. If you also take into account that 343i never comments on any of those subjects ive mentioned its even more clear. Remember your not going to get 343i to come on here and say anything about the population ever!
