I think we can agree that we all love Halo. That is why there is such passion. (Anger, defensiveness, etc)
We do have to keep a few things in mind. It was 343 that set the expectation level. They said what they could do and when they could do it. Failing to achieve the level they set is on them. At that point all criticism is fine.
The worst part about this whole situation is we have 1 of 2 possibilities.
- They knew this wasn’t done and launched anyway.
- They believed they were done and have failed miserably.
As a software developer with almost 20 years experience I would much rather it be #1 however, both are bad options. The standard bull crap lines that we are hearing don’t help us much either. I have my suspicions but would be very surprised if this is resolved in the next few days. This looks to me bigger than a quick patch.
Because 343 hasn’t been forthcoming about the problems, they will continue to hear more anger. Sad.
Give us more info guys, the anger will die down and the excitement will start to build again.
