It’s not like HALO 5 is a third person view game.
Aside from a few brief moments of combat or being killed, you can’t see the armor that you are wearing.

so people can look at you in awe and then message you asking you how you got it or if you can give them a code, but you just delete and shake your head. but seriously, who doesnt want to look frabjous
The spartan i play is supposed to be my avatar. So he’s going to wear the armor i would choose if i was the spartan.
Customizing your Spartan has always been a fun feature in Halo games. In games past I used to take in-game screen shots and then make them my computer wallpaper. It’s just fun.
Something to take your mind off being frustrated when you die, look at your armor. Plus when your moment of glory must be saved on theater, you must look fabulous.

I mean I guess but everyone likes to have an image, even in the digital world. plus most times its easier to identify someone in a game by what they’re wearing and not their name or letters

Really though, I hate the whole Red vs Blue crap, at least let us keep out detail color.
I wouldn’t care if all the armor didn’t look like crap. Just because you can’t really see it doesn’t mean make it ugly.

That is actually a really good point.
I never really thought about it.
Actually, it’s just because I enjoy collecting certain things. Used to play Warhammer 40k, I do play X-Wing and Halo Fleet Battles. I collect the Marvel movie set on DVD. It’s in my nature, and I reckon 343i have capitalised on people like me, people who have a mild compulsion to finish their collection. They’re not stupid.

Couldn’t agree more. Destiny has everyone running around in cloaks and robes painted with rainbow unicorn vomit but you can still easily tell which is a friend and which isn’t. No reason Halo can’t do it.
That’s another reason to bring back fire fight, another mode to rock out our pink Spartans other than FFA.
