I remember trying to help people come to a compromise on both the sides of this halo 4 sucks and halo 4 rocks civil war and it started good but then died off. I have heard everything from nostalgia to god complex used against the halo 4 side and blind fanboys and worse used against the halo 4 rocks side. Are people so unable to work together? Is this really the best people can do these days? While I do slightly agree that nostalgia is playing a big role in the hate (don’t flame me for it because it is just my opinion and you have the freedom to have your own and the right to disagree with me). I would like to see a lot less hate toward Halo 4 and it seems lately that people are just trying to find anything to complain about which makes me want to defend 343 more and more against blind hate. I understand there are problems, nobody can deny that, however we can try to meet in the middle instead of just trying to kill each other so to speak. Think we can make that happen?

There are people who are complaining for the sake of complaint. There are also people being intelligent and thoughtful with their threads and I would like to see those guys work with the other side to come to a compromise and for the people hating to hate over trivial or arbitrary things to shut up because nobody wants to hear it. Yeah I will defend 343 against blind hate while I also agree with some things on either side. I think 343 needs to be given a little more respect from its fanbase and maybe they would have some respect for you, remember the old phrase from our childhood “treat others the way you want to be treated”.
I’m not a psychology major at all, but it is a part of memory in which it is distorted from the actual reality of said events. Say a adult remembers an event in their childhood. compare that with the parent and the parent will be more accurate t o the actual event because their brain was more developed at the time of the event. Make sense.
Therefore nostalgia kind of does the same thing. I’ve thought the past title of a franchise was better and went back to it only to realize that I was wrong and that the past title sucked in comparison. None can deny that because we were all mostly kids, teenagers, or early adults during the time of the original trilogy that our memories of the past titles are slightly distorted as a result.

Halo 3 was legitimately better. Everyone started out equal, you were paired with people of around your skill, and there was actually strategy to moving on the map. I was actually challenged from time to time.
Halo 4 gives you overpowered weapons and weapons at complete random for barely doing anything. No matter how many deaths you get, you still get a weapon so long as you get enough kills. When I get a kill streak I feel like I accomplished nothing, because I get them on a daily basis in Halo 4. You either pick the best loadout possible (DMR Bolt/Plasma Frag/Plasma) or you are disadvantaged. The guns in Halo 3 were easy to aim, but it’s just ridiculous in Halo 4. On top of this there are limited custom games, -Yoink- maps, and no custom maps in matchmaking.
But no, all of this is just “nostalgia”.

I’m asking you guys to have some respect, I can’t imagine that 343 wants to communicate with people who will only scrutinize their every move and announcement. I would too. If people were only going to hate on my every move I’d be giving the silent treatment too, and while they are not they have good reason for not communicating super frequently. Let up guys and they might be more willing to talk. Have a little courtesy.
I don’t need to be blinded by nostalgia to know that Halo 4 isn’t very good. You’ve got problems with the story, a lack of features for custom games and multiplayer and 343i barely having any contact with this community at all.
