i love the assault rifle and don’t do bad with it. Why does it get so much hate on the forums?
Same, mainly get so much hate because everyone thinks the BR is far better.

I only hate it because everyone is so much better than me at wielding it. My aim is wild and out of control.
People are salty their utility BxR is no longer the utility weapon it used to be.
People hate it because they want precision weapons to beat the AR and other autos at short range in addition to already beating them at medium and long ranges.
Because the Assault Rifle has always sucked until now. Now that it is actually a viable weapon people are confused and the natural response is fear and hatred.

Yeah Halo 3 was the worst about this. People would be quick to call the AR nooby because it’s “a spray and pray weapon”. Nevermind that it’s for a different purpose than the BR. I’d even say that if you don’t know to switch to the weapon better suited for CQB and you die from it because you’re stubbornly holding onto the BR, then YOU’RE the one whos bad at the game.
the only more effective weapon at close to mid range is the pistol, storm rifle, needler, and smg(only at close range). Even those have more of a downside to them than an up, pistol is only good if your precise, so its out in a close range, the storm rifle is good for a 1v1 cause it over heats, the needler is great but runs out of ammo in anything greater than a 1v1, and the smg is only good at close range because of its lack of accuracy.

people hate it because it’s a legitimate weapon now. that and the br isnt the only thing that can kill.

The colors are aesthetics, whereas the assault rifle refers to an effect on the actual gameplay. I posted a link to the definition of aesthetics, since I can tell by your post that this conversation is already confusing you enough!
